Hi everyone, i have undergraduate law degree LLB from Uni of London and at the moment i am studying Juris Doctor at Sydney University. I am thinking how employers would look at my resume. Should i study a master to improve? if so, which university(UK or Australia)? Thanks.

Isnt usyd recognized?? Anyway llm is always good!
a sg llm is the best route in my opinion unless you dont want ti work here.

Yes, at least study in SUSS law. Limited places though.

Agreed. NUS law > SMU law > SUSS law

UK is generally better than Australia I would say. If you look at all the Singapore cases, the judges usually refer to English cases than Australian cases.

Why regret doing your Master? It find telling people that you have LLB and Juris doctor or you may want to omit UOL LLB since the qualification may not be recognized to call for bar.

Honestly speaking,UOL LLB will not give you much of an opportunity here in the legal field even if you were to score first class honours which is quite an achievement despite it being a private degree.

Only realistic option is to go overseas to join bars in commonwealth countries like the UK if you die die must be in the legal field.

If not,the only option left is to take up jobs that accepts any field of degree.They might actually pay more than paralegal or legal advisor if you have good honours.

Try applying for JD in SMU and SUSS.

I don't think UOL LLB can be call to bar in commonwealth countries too. UOL LLB is just a stepping stone to get a Law Master or Doctorate Degree in UK in order to be call to bar.


Btw, when I mention UOL LLB, I don't mean these campuses.

• King’s College, London, University of London
• London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London
• Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London
• University College, University of London
• Etc

LLM and JD are different routes. One cannot become a lawyer through LLM. A JD, yes.

I find that your posts are incoherent. It's hard to believe that you have an LLB, JD and Masters. Are you asking on behalf of someone?

And why won't you tell people you have Masters? It baffles me.
