Just bought a leadtek gtx960. Today installed, but for some reason, the card is not working. I connected the pci-e power connector, made sure the card is seated in motherboard, but the card does not work. The fans on the card does not spin , when i power on the pc.
I am thinking it's not likely to be psu problem as i am replacing the radeon hd5770, which also requires pci-e power connector.
is it the card dead on arrival? sigh...feels like wasted money on buying the card...
Any ideas on what else I can try to isolate whether is it the new gfx issue or something else.

Is there any display output?

Btw, fan does not spin =/= card faulty. Some cards their fan does not spin up to 60degC.

may i ask if,
1) HD 5770 is it working previously?
2) did u completely remove all amd software with DDU? and install the new nvidia driver.
3) have u tried the other pci-e X16/x8/x4 slots (if u have )
4) change cable to test?

1. Yes. At least I think so, as just discovered I have all along used the onboard gfx since i changed the monitor. But CPUID util have always managed to identify that I have 2 gfx, 1 radeon hd5770, 1 intel 4600. Now only intel 4600 seen.

2. Yes. The nvidia driver does not install , says could not find compatible gfx hardware.
3. No. Don't think my motherboard have.
4. cable? I am using hdmi, if i connect to onboard hdmi , there is output. if connect to the card, there's no output. So cannot be cable issue.

Should be an easy exchange. Challenger is not fussy IIRC.

So i went down today to the shop, and they tested it on their pc, and it loads ok...
So no refund, and no exchange..
Guess, I just have to accept that card is working, but it's not working with my system.
Very peculiar, have sent in ticket to gigabyte, just to check with them whether is the newer gfx cards supported or not.
Xianz...

My motherboard is gigabyte mah. So seems the MB do not recognize the new gfx so sent ticket to gigabyte lor.
They only test on their pc, I did not lug my pc down for them to test, very heavy...
So my 2 suspect is incompatible with MB or, PSU not enough juice. Although i think that's less likely..700W leh...even if 80% of rated wattage, should be enough to power it. Besides the HD5770 works.
System specs is right at the side of my post.

well actually u have a 2nd slots for the gpu to tes just that the speed not fast. :

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
(The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
* For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)

so that means u can still try out on the pci-e x16 running at x4.
