The plus side is that it will have better IGP and lower power consumption (for mobile and tablet versions).

The minus side is performance improvement is well..... you know...... Maybe those using SB can upgrade but I don't think Haswell users should bother.

However, lowering power consumption means that Skylake-E (when its here), should have better power consumption and hopefully 8 core versions should be easier to OC and consume less power.

Not really. If you look at Haswell E now, its actually using hell alot of power. Its TDP may be 140W but when you OC it, it will hit well over 200W.

As many others have put it, its a nice warmer during winter so Intel will need to do something to bring its power consumption down.

Power consumption. That's a word I haven't heard in a long time.

Ironically as power delivery technologies and heatsink technologies are getting better, newer CPUs can't produce that much power before dying.
