don't need to bargain in thai, they understand english/chinese perfectly well, especially in platinum/CTC, haha.... though it helps if you're polite.

just learn Sawadee krap/ka (greetings) and Khop khoon krap/ka (thank you) will do. even if u can memorize every phrase in the book but when they replied, most likely u won't have a clue what they say anyway. so don waste time. not 2 mention, in daily life, like in any languages, ppl use slang n short-form words. u can hardly find these info in any orthodox textbooks.

eg fish sauce is nam plaa but colloquially, most ppl in bkk pronounce it as nam paa.
