But that's just an example of an English dictionary.

Anyone have any ideas?

haha. Rikaichan is for offline usage. The dictionary gets downloaded to your pc. U dont need a internet connection to run rikaichan. U can go offline, open a firefox browser and run rikaichan. If u are unsure how to use it in offline mode. Just pm me w your msn, i'll teach u how to use it

And yes, it's amazing how I never realise that I'm already half way through my ele 1. x_x And "the English words" did disappear today. It was tough practising the conversation just relying on hiragana. We took a longer time during practise.

PM me your email address, I'll send you something for you to train your hiragana [ with usage instructions ], will be helpful for you to pick up within 2 weeks [ with enough time to spare to revise for test ] since you mentioned you hardly practise... PLUS training aids for making te-form too...

Also, if you want, you may wish to list your number in the PM, in case you need to ask anything related to lesson last min and there's no one to reply you back quickly.

Have to pick up the pace already, this weekend is your 5th lesson already, lesson 8 will come very soon before you realise it...

i m studying at hougang japanese sch. think i haven chosen the wrong teacher and have to survive by myslf already.. she doesn really explains.. and she just tell us to read and read. fullstop =(

hoping to take jlpt 4 this year.. any materials for me for easy learning? all are welcome!
thank ah keong senpai for introducing the JLPT 4 revision book. i see and it looks good. but have to learn the basics first before going on the revision. =D

Hi April,
Those books are from Minna no Nihongo. Unfortunately, i don't own a soft copy of the book. I scanned it from my own book. It's always good to get a hard copy of the book, although i think the grammar notes provided by Hougang is already very good (I did my JLPT 3 and 4 studies over there)

Ya. I have my own library of Japanese books.

I created the Powerpoint slides by myself. Which branch and who is your teacher in Hougang? Maybe i know?

You can try download this and see if you are able to comprehend. If you find that it's good, i can send you the whole set. =)

Anyone knows of any Japanese dictionary, which can be installed on PC using Windows operating systems, for offline lookup. The idea is to install it on PC or laptop for offline usage, say at times without Internet or rather not turn on the web browser.

Any suggestions or recommendations are welcomed, for instance, be it free/paid, or original English or Japanese. Whatever.

For those who wish to know extra info.

日本語の文法には、大きく分けて次の二つがあります。 (Japanese Grammar is largely divided into 2)
国文法・・・日本人が日本語を研究する文法。 (Koku bunpou... The grammar that Japanese learn)
日本の学校で日本人の生徒に教える文法。 (This is the grammar that is taught to the Japanese students)

日本語文法・・・外国の方に日本語を教えるための文法。
(Japanese grammar, the grammar that is taught to foreign learners of Japanese)

Personally for me, i know both, thanks to my ex-teacher who has went back to Japan...
Knowing 国文法 helps a lot in verb conjugation, especially.. =)

Just to elaborate my point about the above, in 国文法, you don't learn things like ない-form, て-form, etc...

And do u know that ppl who learn verb conjugation when you study 国文法 learn faster than another who learns via the normal way, approximately, taking 30 seconds to comprehend, and 5 secs to change from 1 form to another
