heh...
quiet?? maybe class haven start...

no worries, its been accepted... wait for a letter to be sent to u informing u the address of the test venue. :D

haha.. probably haven't start. It was dark behind there.. xD

I'll wait patiently for that letter then. :)

Oh, and I stopped by Bras Basah to get some second hand books, and I found Minna no Nihongo and other JLPT 1 books in the shop! It was second hand, but it doesn't look all that old, and there were minimal scribbles, too. Almost brand new. And it was cheap! :D The second hand book store is also having a sale, so it's even cheaper! I can't believe it, I got a Minna no Nihongo book for $5!!! haha!

azumangadaioh-san, I just passed my test, too. Thanks for all your help. :) And the rest, too. :D

I went down to register for Ele 2 already... They don't have anymore slots for weekend classes in early Sept. So I had no choice but to take the Sep 26 class.. And now I have to wait for a whole month for my next lesson.. :(

But at least, I can study on my own first.. Read the textbook to know what to expect in Ele2... haha.. :D

Congratulations ! Do pm me your oral and written scores... The textbook is only a guide, some parts will be emphasized and others ignored, sometimes the sensei will skip some sections and come back to it later also.

Since you have 1 month, you could use the time to practise the counters for each groups of items, as they will be tested in your Ele2 oral, and future Int levels' oral and written as well. Use the anki software to help you [ since it's mostly memory and recall work ], and also create a new group of cards when you do so, so that in the unfortunate event some files get corrupted for whatever reason [ power outrage, virus, system hang ], you will only lose some cards instead of all cards stored in a single file.

P.S. *Cram* mode in anki should only be used if you are really desperate to finish all the cards in one sitting and rushing to take test or exam in a few days as it is really tiring after that...

The postage fee? What if the exam voucher not posted to your house? You have to spent time call them, etc...

I still don't like the idea of submitting online.

I'm still trying to get used to anki.. :D

For those looking forward to the N series.

Attached are some questions.

N1: http://www.jlpt.jp/j/about/pdf/mondai/N1-mondai.pdf
N2: http://www.jlpt.jp/j/about/pdf/mondai/N2-mondai.pdf
N3: http://www.jlpt.jp/j/about/pdf/mondai/N3-mondai.pdf
N4: http://www.jlpt.jp/j/about/pdf/mondai/N4-mondai.pdf
N5: http://www.jlpt.jp/j/about/pdf/mondai/N5-mondai.pdf

Under the new syllabus,
There will still be 3 sections, mainly

-言語知識(文字・語彙) Knowledge of Language (Vocabulary)
-言語知識(文法・読解) Knowledge of Language (Grammar/Comprehension)
-聴解 Listening

jlpt.jpg

The guidebook is all in Japanese, i will post more info, once i have finished reading the guide book.

Updates:
In the new exam, there will be a base mark (基準点). If one of the sections is not above the base mark, you will fail the whole exam, regardless of how high your total score is.

E.g

-言語知識(文字・語彙) : Marks: 50/60 Base Mark: 40/60 PASS
-言語知識(文法・読解) : Marks: 50/60 Base Mark: 40/60 PASS
-聴解 : Marks: 30/60 Base Mark: 40/60 FAIL

In this case you will fail the exam. This is damn bad news for those people who cannot pass listening.

At least it can be a gauge for employers who employ staff who have the new certificate. That at least your Japanese is really of a certain standard.

More information:

N1: 26 qns
N2: 21 qns
N3: 16 qns
N4: 10 qns
N5: 6 qns

Listening

N1: 37 questions
N2: 32 questions
N3: 28 questions
N4: 28 questions
N5: 24 questions

The Can-Do List

A new list will be setup so that the person who passed the exam and the other people around can know what they can do if they pass this level.

Example would be as follows

Does this mean your N level cert is of better value than the previous JLPT? -__-"

It means this.
The abilities reflected in the table above, belongs to a certain level which is still being studied.
I don't think an N5 would be able to achieve those.
