I'm a long-time lurker of this thread. I'm also involved with a large online Japanese language group in Singapore which dimitri_can-san is also involved in.

As a long-time lurker, I've noticed that Ah Keong-san is a very enthusiastic learner of Japanese. This is good. What is not good is that sometimes the information he gives is not really correct, like the above.

When 皆 is followed by さん, it is pronounced as みなさん. When 皆 is on its own, it is pronounced みんな. This is basic knowledge, so I urge all elementary and not-so-elementary learners to remember this rule.

That said, happy Deepavali to all!

For those who are interested :s22:

The Little Arts Academy (baf.sg) is looking for Jap-speaking volunteers/chaperones to bring a group of Japanese kids for excursions on Dec 19th-20th (Sat & Sun).

These kids are from needy families in Japan and they're just here for a few days to learn more about art and Singapore.

Great if you can help. But if not, please do forward this email to your Japanese speaking friends. They're just looking for people who have studied Japanese for a bit and can communicate with kids.

Anyone interested, please contact:
Adelina Ong - Centre Manager, The Little Arts Academy DID: 65 - 6513 3015 Email: adelina_ong[at]toph.com.sg
