im studying at bunka. i think it is very important to be taught by native japanese to train your listening skills in particular. unless you are studying japanese ONLY to pass exams, JLPT etc rather than being truly fluent in the language. you can train your speaking skills even at lower levels, every lesson take the initiative to have a conversation with your sensei for 5 min. you can do this before/after class or during break. some people very quiet and shy, then they wont learn. it's not how much effort the school puts in, it's how much effort you put in.

i got a friend studying at JCS. seems scary cos the modules are 1 year long and you need to pass the year end exam before you can continue. if you fail then ta pau 1 year?

i totally disagree. There are non-native senseis in JCS that has been been teaching Japanese for 15+ years. The students are not only able to speak fluently and also hold a good conversation plus score for exams.

in JCS, elementary and intermediate have intensive classes that are 5 months long.
so if fail = ta pau go home eat loh simple logic ah

i am quiet and shy though, thats why i am lousy don't be like me

i totally disagree. There are non-native senseis in JCS that has been been teaching Japanese for 15+ years. The students are not only able to speak fluently and also hold a good conversation plus score for exams.

LOL... Study more, practise more, go a little faster, and still have enough time to spare to revise for N4.. After all, 11 months to go till next year's JLPT. Don't need to shortchange yourself.

I am loud and thick-skinned. If this does not force me to learn faster, I don't know what will [ like maybe go for a public speaking course ? ].

Sound interesting. Where do you intend to learn Korean Language? I find pronounciation in Korean language more difficult as words have sound changes when used in a sentence which are not explicitly expressed in writing as like in Japanese.
