about 4-6 yrs

Thank you.

Anyone here knows where can I attend lessons at a flexible schedule?

Because I have to travel for my work, I cannot commit to scheduled lessons like 12 weeks from June to Sept.

I need to be able to attend class as and when I can.

And also any recommends for elementary books?

I am going to Germany for a month to work soon. Don't want to waste my weekend going around, want to do some reading.

hi,

what's your purpose of wanting to learn Japanese.

Suggest you can buying some books like Japanese for Busy People to start reading first.

My wife to be is going to be working in Tokyo next year, doing her PhD now.

I plan to go over to find a job in the next 2-3years.

better for u to spend some time to self study first, then commit time to go school to study.

Japanesepod101 can also be quite good.

if you can only go for flexible schedule, only private lessons suit you, really.

and start with classes, be it scheduled or private lessons first, rather than self study.

皆さま、こんばんは。

Today, one of my N1 students who was from NTU said that she visited the ASEAN Japan Career Fair (ASEAN CAREER FAIR with JAPAN) .

A lot of interviewers know that she can speak Japanese and started to speak to her in Keigo. Unfortunately, she said except for はじめまして。私は~です,she cannot say any 敬語。Another foreigner who was beside her and was able to speak 敬語、got an offer straight away. She then felt that how “small” she was and people from the neighboring countries were able to speak in 敬語 very well.

Having said that, she told me she wanted to join my 敬語 class for my Intermediate class next week where i will talk about 上下関係, 敬語, etc.

So, how should you introduce yourself in 敬語 when you go for an interview? Here’s how

If you are interested to join my free 敬語クラス next week, feel free to pm me.

from another forum: Secondary School Third Languages (Page 40) | KiasuParents

Hi, I have these JLPT 2 materials to give away. I don't know if JLPT 2 is higher or lower than the 3rd lang standards, if it is lower, than let me know so I can throw them away. If not, I thought someone who is really interested in the language may be able to benefit from reading more materials.

haha... 敬語は難しいですね。

敬語は3つじゃなく、5つのタイプがあります。

Aoba from what i know is not a bad school.... Sad to hear that, to be honest.

Thought i can grow with the school but too bad , it was established in 2004
and the contract is expired. Sensei mentioned something like contract over , aoba will be closed and she's returning to Japan after 10 to 12 years in Singapore. I think because of rent and poor business that discourage them to renew the contract and continue operation
