sorry to hijack the thread.

got any resources to explain when to use を and when to use が?

I'm a bit confused over the 2 and my notes and book doesn't really explain them.

Hi,
got questions again, hope to get some help again.

1. 財布や書類が別々にしまえるので、旅行や仕事に便利なんです。
I can't figure out what is the meaning of しまえる (Is it the potential verb of しまいます?)

2. 一人なって考えるために、山にいくんです。
Can someone explain to me what is the meaning of this sentence? More specifically i don't understand what is 一人なって考える. (一人なります? 一人ない?)

I give my 10cents worth of advise.Hope it is right.

1)しまえる comes from しまう ,not しまいます.
いる is your 一段動詞 it will become いられるin potential form.
i will translate your first sentence into:
Since you can sort out/put your wallet and documents separately,it will be convenient during work, travel and etc.

2)一人なって comes from 一人なる。
I will translate this to:
In order to think/consider/ponder by myself,i go to the mountain.
(sounds so ancient Chinese martial art show,go up mountain to think)

anyone got any recommendaion for japanese conversation classes?

Depending on your level,
Ikoma pre-advance is more towards conversation. Its the bridging between JLPT 3 & 2.
Maybe you can try Bunka also.Since i heard they are more conversational based too.

it will sound more correct if you take out the "be able to" portion.

”i went up to the mountain.”->間違えました

腰をぬかす = unable to stand up due to fear or surprise.

a similar phrase would be 腰抜け which means coward.

Actually, I discovered this by chance on the year before last year [Yr 2007].

I think this year will still have but the pricing might be different than last year as last year pricing was quite cheap.

For example for the earlier book. It cost S$10 at WBF last year & with additional discount, its price was actually S$8.50.
