I have a question on Japanese if anyone can answer...
In Detroit Metal City there is a song called 恨みはらさでおくべきか
The grammer form is obviously ~te-oku form but what's interesting is that the standard way of using the sentence should be 恨みはらしておくべき yet さでおく is used. Has anyone learnt this form before?

looks like quite a few fellow ikomas here, i'm also in the basic 2 term 1 now. now learning the て　form which is kinda of a killer for me.

just a question, can i skip jlpt4 and attempt jlpt3 cos i am thinking of attempting it this year? based on my pace, i am likely to reach intermediate 1 level by the end of the year. do you think it is enough to attempt jlpt3 or should i wait for another year?

yah, u can skip JLPT 4 and go straight to JLPT 3 directly provided u are comfortable with ur proficiency....

from my sensei, she say, JLPT 3 require intermediate 2 so maybe u can try self-study?

got to know them during my exchange in Japan in my poly days like 8, 9, 10 years (that time was the japanese wave) ago...

then know more during Robotics exchange and world cup in 2002.

i was speaking quite broken japanese (about JLPT 3 level) then with 1 of my friend's brother acting as our official translator as he was working in the embassy then.

so 1st thing 1st,

requirements is

1) Japanese Language proficiency
2) japanese Slang proficiency
3) japanese culture knowledge (historical, fashion, music, drama, news, etc)

and 1 very important attribute is the japanese accent built in when u speak, i was grilled when i was in poly days and also by my japanese penpal who offered to teach me jap during our letter writing days.

speaking to japanese ladies require special EQ and language formality knowledge. one must take extra care not to offend in any indirect way...

my sensei is kawabata sensei... very patient and helpful teacher....

no lah, my jap super lousy....

so i still long long way to go.... so work hard for the last JLPT in mankind history...

its origin is classical Japanese.
The で is the negative connector that is attached to what you call "negative form" of the word, (ie はらさ-) and is not the conjunctive particle で. The おく means to leave it there as it is. The sentence means "Can you NOT settle your grudge and leave it as it is? (No, you can't)"

So you're saying that はらさ～ comes from the same root as はらさぬwhich is the older Japanese form for negative? This would make sense for me; however I don't get the part you said about the negative connector though. Since there is the おく part, shouldn't the でおく come from the ～ておく　form?　Or do you mean that ～（さ）でおく = ～（さない）でおく？

BTW, do you know of any site I can read up similar usage from? I tried googling but can't find anything.
