JCS do offer conversational classes but cutting in or not have to depend :D

yup~ i actually took them before. they are not bad, really. the bottom thing required is still courage in daring to speak in class. that's the way to improve. i did see people who took conversational classes but not daring to speak in class, fearing that other people would laugh at their mistakes. not very effective in learning if they think in that way.

then before the start or after the lesson, one can try to chat with the sensei in japanese, increasing chances to speak and developing the ability to converse in japanese.

I agreed...

I wish everyone who are Japanese learners have the courage to speak, just speak with confidence to native Japanese and friends like me and the ability of conversing in Japanese will rise in no time.

At the same time have more friends who have the same interest in Jap and also Japanese friends :D

If u r starting out on hiragana or hv problems reading a ten character string of hiragana in under ten seconds, not sure of te-form of verbs [ and includes changing it from dictionary form ], basic uses of particles に , へ, and を [ though Elementary 1 covers A LOT more than that ]. Think it's better to spend a little more time from the most basic level then move up from there, knowing that u hv confidence in what u learned & did not miss anything out. Rather than jump into a higher level and discover u miss out important stuff that could delay yr learning efforts by asking classmates who hv those notes & go through them.

It's probably the same at any other school, their higher level courses are based on lower level courses that those from their own school will benefit the most bah. Those "jumping" in may miss out on certain things taught at lower levels.
It's different of course for those who took a break after learning a number of years...

Ultimately it's yr own decision that creates the outcome.

Anyone planning to take N2 this year?

I'm taking the JLPT 2 prep course at Ikoma but I find that I definitely need help with speaking and listening...
