Been some time since I last visited this thread! Completed by Ele1 at Bunka last year, till now still hesistating to take ele2

Quite siong I must say, pace very fast, must self study or sure die one

Till now, I still feel I cant grasp it very well. Particles? Oh my god, till now still cannot understand lol.

Btw, dimitri, hows your lesson like? Do u offer Ele 2 like bunka kind? Might be willing to sign up with you, really looking to improve my foundation and take on higher levels.

I am in tokyo now and am thinking of getting an electronic dictionary.
Can anyone advise me if XD-4850 is enough for beginners or is XD-B8500 much better?

My B class is Hiromi-sensei. Conversation course is Morimoto-sensei.

my 4 months is up with bunka lol. might just end up continuing with another school my friend rec me to. i find bunka's curriculum a little too intensive for me. was hesitating signing up for their intermediate courses >:

Anyone studying at Ikoma... so far... i find it ok... pace slower than JCS... but it is my first lesson there only...

Is the pace at Ikoma fast?

The materials as mentioned by dimitri_can are really good...

Ikoma is ok... if you can manage to set some time say few hours to study and revise..
and they have huge amount of material it is like everyday giving you 3 to 5 notes each lesson..

I took classes at Bunka before and I found it quite intensive. There was class test every week and the teacher starts speaking in Japanese only by the 4th class. It is good if you are able to set about 3hrs or so each week for homework and revision.

Has anyone taken Jap classes at Yanos before? Is it any good?

I just completed E1 at Bunka last week and don't worry about the 'intensity', at least for Elementary lol both my senseis made efforts to "converse" via Q&A with every student to practise the grammar learned and the pace was quite comfortable. The key is to make sure you spend time studying and practice outside class, even if it's for an hour or less, I believe. Treat it as something fun to learn and the fears will eventually go away.

for our E1 class, the weekly tests are not graded. in fact they're good to gauge your own progress and effort I think. you get used to it and it can even become fun

I'm currently being taught by ms masada and she's quite a nice teacher. Her teaching pace is average - not too fast nor too slow. Many times, whether the class is fun or not depends on your classmates. Most of my classmates keep to themselves so it's not lively at all plus the classroom (A) looks very dull too. But if you get other classrooms, it should be fine. Thank god, E2 is ending soon. Hope to get a more lively class in Intermediate
