The ASEAN CAREER FAIR with Japan is a Campus Asia and ASEAN-Japan friendship event where Japanese companies will be recruiting students graduating from universities all over Southeast Asia.

I do not speak Japanese but can I participate ?
Apart from business-level English there is no language condition to participate in the career forum. Language requirements are different with each company, so please ask their conditions and requirements at the fair.

I briefly took Jap Level 1 in nus... Anyone knows where I can continue to take classes, or need to restart from scratch? Where's good for beginners?

Personally, I feel that paying $1800 to learn 13 chapters of Minna no Nihongo + a bit of extra stuff is a bit too much... Schools can do up to N4 with the same amount of fees.

Btw, a few of you have pm me asking if i conduct N1-N5 courses, when is the next course etc. Pls see my website for more info. Thank you. =)

I'm wondering if there are any other members here learning Jap? I am also quite weak in conversation although writing and reading is not a problem for me. Would like to see if we can form a group to converse in Jap together.

Teachers at Ikoma

Hallo all,

Just started Advanced Class @ Ikoma recently. Would like to join a class where the teacher is strict, in the sense that he/she will not hesitate to point out your mistake. Also hope to attend a class where the teacher is more experienced and good at explaining the grammar points.

Currently, these are the teachers who are teaching this batch's advanced classes:

Ms Yamaguchi H
Ms Motobayashi
Ms Ito N
Ms Atarashi
Ms Hirata
Mr Nagai

TIA!

was taught by yamaguchi sensei and nagai sensei during my half-year stint in bunka. attended 2 terms of pre-advanced class.

both senseis are quite decent, i would say.

in my opinion, the senseis do not make a lot of difference:

1. all of them speak in japanese only (very, very minimal english)

2. textbooks are being used. from my experience, all the senseis strictly stick to the contents of the textbook. as such, even if there's variation in the teaching, i couldn't see any difference.

(that's why i stopped ikoma after half a year...:s8::o)
