hi all, anyone knows where to buy LED light driver? do they even sell it separately? mine went kaput

Standalone driver can be buy from Taobao, just buy the correct wattage. I changed my existing driver to remote control type. Have not check locally, but most likely it can be bought at Balestier Road light shop or Sim Lim Square.

I have some spare. PM me if needed. I do need your old driver box so that I can transfer the original cable to new circuit. Same rating as yours, support up to 25W LED light.

Buying from Taobao better becareful. Not only price varies. Quality too. So watch carefully the following points.
1. Isolated or non isolated. Non isolated means your electrical live circuit is pass thru from input to LED board. So do not touch LED board when it is power on.
2. Fused or not fused. This is additional protection to your LED light or incase anything wrong. It should not tripped your house circuit breaker.
Other then this. Check those components used. Some driver use very small transformer and is very hot when LED light is on.

If you buy from SG physical shop, it should be quite safe to buy any driver as long as wattage is the same. If buy from online shop, need to check the input voltage is the same as singapore 220/240V.

Normally driver unit covers a range of wattage. Eg. 18w to 24w. As long as your LED light fall in the range plus the current rating Eg 300ma. Then you are fine.

LED light use constant current circuit. Most common used in home is 280-300mA type.

Connector type is also important. You can get some ideal from here. Best is don't throw away the old one so you can transfer the wire/connector over.
