Leica SL Owners/Users

I've been owning and using the SL over the past 1.5 years. I've taken it together with both the 24-90mm & 90-280mm zooms on travels. Very reliable. Great sharpness & color rendering despite more bulk comparing to M rangefinder system. It is a camera system I'll keep to complement my Leica M system.

have a test of handling it in any Leica store. The EVF is one of the best. Personally I tested it in the previous Leica Store in Raffles Hotel (now at Fullerton), I do find it too huge (with the 24-90mm worse) as I have small hands Anyway, as of Leica's reputation, the built quality is superb. Best thing is can use Leica M's tiny but superb quality glass via adaptor.

The only downside is that its huge. But it is a lot 'holdable' compared to smaller models like M and Q

Hows the quality on the 90-280 compared to 24-90?

Both SL zooms compliment each other extending focal length from 24mm to 280mm. The 90-280mm is a useful range as a short to medium tell zoom lens. Over my ownership of more than 15mths, I use it more often than my 24-90mm. It has great contrast, beautiful color rendering, focusing speed is fast (faster than 24-90) and it is sharp. With firmware 3.0 the focus tracking works well in good lighting. AF struggles in low light and back lighting situations ( which happens to lots of AF lenses). With the IOS and good ISO range of SL, I only shoot handheld. Can be a little tiring after 4-5 hours of constant shoot as the lens is great egomaniacal but the weight still shows after extended usage. I love the lens. Now only my Noctilux and 21lux gets used on my SL occasionally, I apply the rest of my M lenses back up my M10 after recently acquiring it. Overall, my SL gets used more often than my M10.
