Nothing new. Maybe should've just bought from VAR instead of direct.

"Promise"?

promise
n 1: a verbal commitment by one person to another agreeing to do (or not to do) something in the future
2: grounds for feeling hopeful about the future; "there is little or no promise that he will recover" [syn: promise, hope]
v 1: make a promise or commitment [syn: promise, assure]
2: promise to undertake or give; "I promise you my best effort"
3: make a prediction about; tell in advance; "Call the outcome of an election" [syn: predict, foretell, prognosticate, call, forebode, anticipate, promise]
4: give grounds for expectations; "The new results were promising"; "The results promised fame and glory"

I really doubt if that happened.

I previously purchased a custom built Thinkpad. I clearly remember having to agree that that shipping date is an estimate, and you can't cancel your order once it's confirmed.

I'm quite certain you had to agree to the same too when you placed your order, why do you seem surprised now?

Advice? In future, don't order a custom built laptop if you need one urgently - buy one that is in stock instead.
In the meantime, maybe borrow a laptop from a friend to tide you over till yours arrives.

is this considered super worth?

Of course Thinkpad E475 decent specs, thinkpad built, 500+ but don't get the default A8/A6 APU pay abit more upgrade to A10 Quad Core APU

Not the most powerful system but will do well for most tasks

I got the unit.
It is plastic but it is the strong/tough type better than Ideapads.
Matt BOE LED Display Panel is great
Good buy, speaker positioning away from heatsink, will not suffer damage from heat.
Thermal dissipation not that ideal, heatpipe is quite long away from thermalsink.
Thermal Sink unit is made by AVC very quiet.
Lighter than expected compared to ideapad model
Synaptics Touchpad
Conaxant Audio
Qualcomm Atheros Wireless QCA9377 1 Stream Wireless not so good can be upgraded to a QCA 2 Stream Wireless AC using FRUs

Default Imaging sucks especially McAfee crap.
Slow initially because the imaging is not well done plus I am cheapskate so I got the 5400rpm HDD Western Digital 1TB
Just 1 stupid package installs 15 services inside
Will reformat the crap out of it.
