4K now for laptop is high tier screen resolution but for budget user like me will stick to HD screen like Dell Inspiron 15 3543, $799 you can get i5 + dedicated GPU it is less than half the price of Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series 4k display pricing can spend few hundreds topup for 4yrs parts & accidental damage warranty, Good to have accidental damage wty, last time i had a dell laptop i manage to claim once for screen crack due to the laptop drop on the floor.

The Dell Inspirion 15 7000 got 4K UHD... The Dell 24 7000 series well...

Looking at my Asus 4K screen... I think FHD still more than enough

But if your laptop is like the Dell Inspirion 15 3543 only cost $799, like not very worth it to purchase the 4yrs parts & accidental damage wty, unless the wty is based on a percentage of your cost.

Currently, in my school, seems like many people are opting for 14-17".. They say play game nicer even though is heavy like siao.... So maybe thats why Dell got the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 and Dell Inspiron 24 7000 to suit them.

So buy the Dell ProSupport for the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 and Dell Inspiron 24 7000 will cover even if screen smashed?

Yea, one of the bro here mentioned if buy ProSupport, they got cover accidental damages like screen crack for both models..

didn't know 15" models are still in demand in the market.

I thought most people who prefer their notebooks to be lighter than before :o

15.6" models like the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 are probably for people to use mostly like a desktop but within a tight table space.
14" models and below would be more suitable for people to carry around.

Yes really a waste of 4k screen on a 15 inch laptop. On the Dell Inspirion 24 7000, a 4k screen would probably be good.

actually gaming on Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is not really shiok or fun cos the screen is small. need to have bigger screen for the gaming laptop but then the weight and size factor will increase.

If buy for student to do school project, think Dell XPS 13 or Dell XPS 15 should be suffice ba.

Haha, need to work harder to win voucher to offset the cost. :s13:

if its just school project then Dell XPS 13 or 15 is enough unless he/she want to try Intel RealSense 3D camera with Windows 10 Hello.

Does the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 come with an optical drive ?
The optical drive can be swapped for a HDD caddy for another HDD/SSD for more storage space in addition to the 1TB 5400rpm SATA Hybrid HDD.

Cater to different markets mah. Must give consumer the choice. Actually a bit sad to see netbooks die off. I guess because tablets have replaced them.

The Dell Inspirion 15 7000 is clearly targeted towards gamers who want the very powerful gaming performance and long battery life.

These are the type of people who don't mind their notebooks to be slightly heavier than the norm(ultrabooks). From the video I can say that Dell has done a good job to squeeze in the hardware into a slim yet compact shell.

Yes Dell Inspirion 15 7000 is targeted at gamers who need power gaming performance, a bigger screen but would not mind a heavier laptop.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 come with 1 card reader slot plus 3 USB 3.0 ports, this ports are sufficient for us to plug the external storage drives like portable or thumb drive and nowadays this external drives are relatively cheap, so obviously there is no need to have an optical drive in this compact device. ;)

So the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 cannot read dvd/blu-ray disc?
