dunno why u guys make it so complicated.
Backgrd intro: I have a Dip in EE and degree in EE.

Just go to PUB BLDG in somerset, go ask to take a 5 day course, end of 5 day course, u will have to take test, then u will get ur "basic" LEW. I didnt think this had change over the years.

Go google the LEW course, i think u will find the info u needed.

BUT i do not know if they have change the intake requirement. Dun do it if u have no use for it, u need to renew this license every 2 years.

I din bother to take mine even when i was highly involve in construction field work.

Hi just happen to see this thread when i google for LEW license.
I wish to do my home electrical installations so i'm hoping to get a basic LEW license (electrician grade min.) in the shortest time. I've a dip in engineering(power electrical) but after going thru EMA's website i found out that I'm still not qualify for the lew application due to the lack of 2 yrs exp in the related field. Really need some advice here and hopefully someone from the same industry could help.

@seianko,
Hi just to check the 5 day course u mentioned was it conducted by Singapore Power Training Institute? Does 5 day course plus test = electrician qualification plus 2 yrs exp?
I've tried but couldn't find any info on the lew course u mentioned. Any help rendered would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It is really up to the interviewers. If you know them, your interview will become a chit chat session.

Hi, Mao Qing,

You can find out more on EMA's requirements to become an LEW, kindly access
EMA website for more details

There are 3 different LEW Licence for you to consider

You can check out the website of "Quality Power Management Pte Ltd" for an LEW course.

ITE has some courses for residential testing. Can check out the website. Also recommend going for any CP5 courses which teaches you the key essentials of CP5.
