LG BR Writer

Recently bought this LG Electronics 14x Internal BDXL Blu-Ray Burner Rewriter WH14NS40 , after installed and was surprised at the Write Speed , my blank BR disc was written at 8X speed and the rated BR blank disc speed is only 4X. I have another old LG Blu-Ray BH12LS35 and the write speed is 6X of the same blank disc rated at 4X speed. The worst is the HP BR writer (BD335i),the blank BR disc rated at 4X speed and the write speed is also 4X.

I think the different is one comes with software/driver and the other is just the drive only
