I was more or less decided on getting a G3 until I read this thread so now leaning towards the G2 Pro... Plus it's cheaper at $650...

If you prefer a bigger screen and do not mind that there isn't a laser focus on camera, Pro 2 is a wiser choice with its proven stability and high performance. :)

As for the camera, the OIS+ does quite well already.

The laser focus thing is a gimmick to me but perhaps to others it's important... As I was already considering the G3 at 5.5", the G2 Pro being at 5.9" is not really an issue...

I did purposely go down to a Singtel shop to have a feel of the G2 Pro and the G3... Both are quite nice and the slippery back on the G2 Pro won't be a problem because I'll have the case...

Any other points that I should register to convince myself to go for the G2 Pro?

I see.

Being a 5.9", everything is big for maximum enjoyment. Text is big, WhatsApp chat is big, YouTube is big, movie video is big, keyboard is big for easy typing, email is big, camera view finder window is big for shooting...

It is just awesome and yet the handset itself is not big or bulky considering that it has a 5.9" screen. ;)

If you compare it to a HTC One Max, then you will appreciate the great build and lightness of the G Pro 2.

It is just a bit taller than G3.

Also, being a native 1080p display, it is compatible with a lot of apps as well as games and video.

True everything is bigger less the price... Just did a side by side comparison of the specs between the G2 Pro and G3... Less the processing speed (2.5GHz vs 2.26GHz), screen size, memory card capacity and the battery, everything else is pretty much similar... It's not that bulky for a phone that's almost 6"...

Oh I haven't "touched" the HTC One Max but have seen it at the Starhub shop... Looks like the Samsung Mega 6.3...

It's 215gm... 40gm more than the G2 Pro due to the aluminum body...

"Feel like an extra d*ck" should be taken as a good thing... Of course depending which "side" are you on...
