anyone having issues with their camera not being able to take pics? i have all icons cleared so its supposed to be the "quick snap" mode but it just focuses and upon tapping, nothing happens.

also, my gallery app keeps force closing. not sure if its because im rooted and running on 540dpi. :/

i am rooted but i didnt apply the 540dpi setting...and i have no issue..

i believe it shd be the 540dpi setting that cause the issue...

The premium droids are in combat mode

Sony Xperia Z2. The composite endurance rating gives the Sony a solid lead but, equally important, it also managed to beat its rival in two out of the three individual tests.
Sony Xperia Z2. While the numbers are close, the G3 falls behind in most of our tests, no matter which versions we tried (3GB and 2GB). Either the QHD screen really takes a toll on all aspects of performance, or LG are having a hard time with this particular iteration of Snapdragon 801.
Also, it's worth noting that the LG G3 has some serious overheating issues, and that the quoted benchmark numbers dropped significantly after just a few minutes of active benchmarking.
The Xperia Z2 has overheating issues too, but they start to get noticed only after prolonged use of the camera or in hot weather.

I use gps about 15min then switched to camera the four letter S word....Sony tells me it's too hot to take photos.... Then I said a few four letter words myself but none beginning with S. I'm gonna SELL you as soon as the G3 is available, you Sony S.H.I.T. Ok maybe I did swear a couple of four letter S words besides Sony....

It's no longer the premium brand it used to be I'm afraid. So ex-Z2 I am.

I agree. Sony always has high specs and full of promising but always fail on execution.

It is the first time I use a smartphone that I have the stock camera app hanged and failed while taking photos and whatsapp hang while typing a message. Since then I never touch any xperias.

Are you saying the phone pops up a message suggesting that it has overheated, thus unable to take photos?

Looking for a way to disable the double tap screen on feature but can't find any method on the Web. The hidden menu has the knock on removed. Think this function is not very good if one keeps the phone in the pocket as the screen may turn on. And I believe this function will also sap battery as the screen is sensing for any double tap to turn the phone on.

Never had issues with LG double tap function. Even when using my g2 also never had screen turn on by itself.

Only when I used m8, I had the screen turn on in my pocket.

Don't think it has any serious impact on battery life. If everything also turn off then it's no longer smartphone.

just wondering, how do you even tap on the screen when its in your pocket? first of all, the screen is capacitive which means the chances of the screen registering a touch through your clothings is rather small. secondly, you need to touch the same area twice, in a rather short time span in between. The probability of this happening is really really low.

I can only think of one possibility. You hit the power button that turned the screen on in your pocket ,not the double tap..

I have one particular work pants where the fabric lining of the pocket is either so thin or mildly conductive such that the handphone will without fail keep activating the wrong knock on when the screen is facing my knee, such that after 5 mins of walking and I take out my g3, it will ask me to reset knock on code due to it activating wrongly too many times.

But I blame my pants for that. So I threw that pants away.

Yes ridiculous isn't it. Went all the way to the beach using gps then reach there couldn't take any photos because it was too hot. It allows you to take one shot then tell you camera is shutting down as to prevent overheating. If you Google this you will find many users face this problem with the z2.

After waiting for more than a month without any fix I sold it off. OMG. Z3 will be launched not too long in a few months and I'm still holding this z2.
