Using this. Quite a nice phone with smooth UI

How is it compared to LG G3 and maybe Vivo Xplay 3S?

Why go for the korean when our D855 is already the international set? Unless you can't wait to have a custom recovery, else there's no point. Sides, there isn't much notable differences between the korean set and the intl one, unlike the G2.

The Korean LG G3 F460 has a different processor as compared to LG G3 D855.

Getting a new fone, need help with G3 review.

Hi Guys,

I know some people already start using the G3.

Would like some review about the major flaw for this fones.

Quite worried about the lag issue with the UI delay.

Been reading forum all mostly about lag issue & battery drainage.

So does this problem still there or the lastest FW fixed the issue.

Help me out aitex.. been cracking my head if i shud leap out frm samsung to tried LG.. Thx!

You should. I saw the stock S5, and boy, was it bad. Its loaded with full of nonsense that drains battery like no tomorrow, and the fact that the S5's battery is smaller than G3 makes it worse.

I'm running 4.4.2 @ 3.4.0 kernel, don't really encounter any lag on UI. Battery is running fine too, if you are not a heavy user, two days can be fulfilled very easily.

By now, LG probably had updated the firmware to 4.4.4 (I'm not sure, coz I didn't update), heard the base android 4.4.4 is very efficient.

"lag" is very subjective. Some people want things to be instant. Take more the 1/2 - 1 sec to open an app means lag to some people. :o

True. But with 3 other colleagues also holding the same phone and no complaints, I believe our G3 is a pretty good phone so far. :)

My battery can last barely a full day and i dont think im a heavy user.

Does listening to music and playing candy crush plus whatsapp = heavy? :/

I will turn on the battery saver mode also.. But still gotta charge it w my portable to make sure i got enough juice till i reach home

Also i encounter problems like the screen not being sensitive at times. Eg. Playing candy crush it doesnt swipe the piece that i want to.. And sometimes double tapping the screen doesnt unlock the phone. Is it just me? Lol

Depends on whether you are on the international G2 or the korean G2.

Comparing to our D855 (G3 International):

International G2 has no external SD card slot and no removal battery (@3000mAh), has no wolfson.

Korean G2 has extSD and removable battery, but battery capacity is at 2610mAh only, has wolfson DAC.

Our G3 (international version) has:
- External microSD card slot
- Default 32GB internal variant
- Removal battery (@3000mAh)
- QuadHD IPS screen (G2 no amoled too, which is a good thing)
- Lightly larger screen size
- Wireless charging capability
- Improved physical buttons design (I feel)
- Better icons and UI design (G2 was really bad)
- Better camera (laser based focusing, near instant focus)
- Very good processor (standby power consumption is very low, even better than my former CM11 based S4)

If you are worried about the qHD killing the battery juice, LG actually did a pretty good job optimising the LCD power consumption. I can easily last two days on non intensive usage.

Root level wise, I last checked the bootloader still isn't unlocked yet.
