I have xposed mods, ifont, G3 tweaksbox, and other root apps installed. Do I need to uninstall these root apps first?

Sorry. Need a little more help before jumping in.

Once FW upgraded, I lose root. If I re-root with purpledrake, those xposed mods and other root apps will work again? Or is there any other things that I need to do first?

your mod might need to reinstall..but after reroot..your super su will ask u to install binary again...you can just install normally...

Thanks. Downloading upgrade now through PC Suite. Super duper slow ....zzzzz

Update:

Downloading takes more than 30min. May be server was too busy. The upgrade process was quite fast and smooth. 10j now.

Re-rooted using PurpleDrake. Installed Supersu and updated binaries. Reinstalled all rooted apps. All running fine.

my batt like drop quite fast. last night 3am was at 94% and now at 11am drop to 78% already. in between only 1 whatsapp came in which i close the notification at 8+am.

Maybe some apps hangup in the background. Do a restart and see if it happens again.

Now latest is J right? Updated via ota and still maintain root. The kb is a bitch since the last version. Such a pity cause the previous versions of stock kb was one of the best I've ever used. Much better than swiftkey.

I find the keyboard to be fine still, but the space bar isn't working that great because sometimes it won't work when I press space bar.

yup update yesterday before sleep.

Maybe some apps hangup in the background. Do a restart and see if it happens again.

i did a shutdown and on again today. batt level at 2.30pm is 61%. now 4.10pm, is 46%. few whatsapp ongoing only.

Saw the same problem with OTA update. overnite it drop from 90+% to 48%

One thing is the bat use the chart just suddenly dropped to 48% There is no sign of what used the battery.

I tried updating to J again using LG PC Suite and from 6hr later it dropped only 1%(little usage and no push mail)

Ya the Battery Life seems recover after i do the update using LG PC Suite. It seems to be a full clean update.
It may be the OTA update i first did is not "clean" The clear one is the battery app gone bonkers.

With version i and j, i felt that it is best to do a clean factory reset after the update. The phone felt smoother.

Download the Pc Suite from LG Website. Check for new update.They will indicate there is a 10J F/W to be latest(It will indicate that even if you updated using PC Suite before). Just follow. Do note Backup is very slow.

Anyway i think F/W J itself is ok. If you updated without any problem there should be no need to re-update.

if j is good, wait till you try L. battery standby is superb. the LG UI is also smoother imo. But I am now using Nova launcher, and it is much smoother than the LG UI.

Previously my Note 3 battery life lasted better about 15 mins or so over my G3, recently after the kitkat update the darn note 3 start to leak juice like a punctured milk pack.

Currently my G3 seems to last at least half an hr or more longer over my Note 3.
think gonna sell off the Note 3 soon.
