Is lg g3 a phone worth to get even now? Using a note 3 currently and thinking if g4 is worth the upgrade for the camera improvemens.. is g3 a stable phone ?

mine...1st batch gold g3..having same issue at the mic port..very fine hairline crack..sigh..never drop...treat it like baby..handle with super care..still

Yes, I think it is still worthwhile a phone to get despite it being an older model.

Screen colour and battery consumption (on paper, need to see in real life). 808 vs 801 (theoretical, may not be much). But I think the obvious difference should be the camera especially its settings. G3's stock camera settings are really really limited. And I don't understand why most people would praise G3's camera performance. Out door/bright light of course no problem. Most phones' camera will do fine enough. But in door, I find my previous S4 is a tad better. An OIS of that size is more of a gimmick than actually effective compare to one on a big lens real camera. 15 years back I could actually see the OIS on my monster size 2 megapixel Olympus C2020Z worked. Nowadays, somethings miniature or pocket size also claim they have an OIS where I can't actually see the effect.

Luckily camera is the one thing that I use least on a mobile phone. So G3 is still a good enough device to me. Just curious to see what improvement 5.1 will bring.

Just to add: I like G3's design/look more than G4. But I think G4's 5.0 out of the box should be better than G3's upgraded one, especially if you don't do factory reset.

I update my G3 too, like everything the same

I feel like battery drops much faster when using WiFi. Luckily 4G is ok.

They've replaced mine, crack appeared after 11 months. LG representative mentioned that replacement for this issue is valid once since flaw only existed with the first batch.

After 8 months of use, the hairline crack along the mic appeared a few weeks ago. Just updated to v20g as well and didn't notice any difference so far. Anyway, moving to G4 soon.. hope it's much better than the G3
