I am pinning all my hopes in Huawei P9 for its dedicated blackwhite optics and superb bokeh and adjustable f stop. Its is real metal instead of LG very thick primer coating with metallic paint. The gray colored primer is so unsightly if G5 got scatched.

Too bad I find the exposure on Galaxy S7 cannot be adjusted directly and is dependent on other settings. F stop 1.7 is only marginally better than LG.

Huawei P9 will be my next phone.

It has no OIS though, so might be getting all the shakey videos.

Im interested to see how the P9 performs because its one of the first phones that may actually be pursuing serious (as in "not stupid bokeh gimmick") computational imaging techniques by combining multiple images into 1 single higher quality image.

Sharing my case here. In Feb 2016 my G4 (505 series) got bootloop issue. Went to service center and they manage to disable some component for the OS to bypass. I got to backup my files.

1 week later got the phone back. Mobo replaced with 601 series. Just last week the phone had random restarts. The camera area became really warm. It restart like every few mins. Did factory reset and it seemed to help for a few days. Lesser restarts but then things just got worse.

Everytime got notification come in from whatsapp, telegram etc phone hang and then restart. Sometimes hang then off and cannot turn on. Must take out battery for 10mins then can turn on again.

Yesterday the phone just died. Turned off and cannot turn on at all. Worse I was at hospital and also on mob standby. I realised when I insert battery after taking out for a while there will be a flicker of light at the camera flash behind.

Seems like motherboard gone. Lucky I backup data a few days ago. Giving up on LG. Probably the only LG I will own. The service center is too far from home. Very inconvenient. My iPhone 4s and 5s still going strong. Sigh...

Eh I want ask ah

If I follow this

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65919400&postcount=707

Will still have warranty coverage boh

That workaround only works on Lollipop ROMs.

After you flash, the phone will work normally but at a slower speed. Good luck then convincing the service center that it is faulty.

And if you tell them then that the phone is only alive because you flashed something leaked on the internet, they will instantly void your warranty. :D

I've a little problem with G4 on android 6.0, v20C.

Sometimes I add a contact to Google, enter all the data, saved it.
Then occasionally, it's lost. The tel number just appear as it is without the contact name that I enter earlier.

It's frustrating after entering all the data and the contact is like being deleted by itself.

Is anyone else facing this problem ?

I second you. LG will be ready to void whenever possible and ask you to pay extravagant for replacement board. I would think no matter how their phone price fluctuate, and so does not the parts pricing.

Have you checked if the contact data was saved properly in Google contact in the first place? Check via the web to verify.

Yes, either copy your phone content to your PC/cloud, or use a backup app.

Don't understand why you keep your contacts in SIM? There are limitations saving contacts in SIM. And if you lose your phone/SIM, there goes your contacts. SIM is not the best place to save your contacts. Sync them to Google contact. This is a typical issue that ppl always have when they say that they lose their phone hence lose their contacts.

Yes, SMS is still useful, I have around 1000 SMS messages in my phone. Yes, there is also a backup app to backup SMS and either to copy the backup file to external storage or cloud.

Whatsapp, use Whatsapp Google drive backup feature.

And please, make it a habit to backup regularly if scared to lose any data in phone.

Yes, I've checked.

I'm in front of my pc.

I saved a number someone called me in my G4, saved to Google contact.
It showed up as saved with name and everything.
Sync is on.

Then I looked at my pc contact. It didn't showed up.
Then I checked my G4 again, the contact is lost mysteriously.

Then I re-add again....blah..blah..and it showed in pc and G4.

It looks like something is deleting the contact that I try to save.

This happens quite a few times, and it's quite frustrating.
