Went service centre, one glance at the mobile phone section, most if not all are G4...

i wonder if some people in LG see it as blessing in disguise that the G4 undersold back then in 2015. If it were a sales hit, then the more they sold, the more bootloops they'd now have to fix :s13:

if your warranty was not registered in their system yet, they will ask for receipt to register warranty officially on the spot, and use the receipt's purchase date as the starting point of the 1yr warranty.

if you can still use the phone normally means it hasnt suffered bootloop

bootloop means it shut down and every time you try to turn it on, it never makes it past the boot screen before shutting off again

Loop : a structure, series, or process, the end of which is connected to the beginning.
Booting = beginning of powering phone up.

Technically it mean the boot ... looped to the beginning of booting...and loop again.

so boot - loop - boot - loop - boot - loop - boot - loop - boot - loop - boot - loop - boot - loop

ordered another 2 pairs of lens replacement to replace that one I previously had which had wear and tear

can really see the difference when photographing light sources at night

considering the G5 doesnt have the same ease of lens replacement I hope the coating quality is at least a lot better...

Phone got the bootloop issue, went down, and another week later, they change my mobo from 505 to 605 and change my LCD display after I mentioned to them about the LCD burn in as well.

However, the LCD panel seems to be too yellowish when I collected it when compared to my friend's G4. The CSO could see the yellowish screen straight away. He directed me to another CSO, initially the CSO said the display has different batch thus the colour will be different. I told her, I understand if it is just a little bit. (More on that later).

I tried to ask for a replacement, even after taking out my LG G2 to compare with my G4, the CSO told me it's a different model.
I was like isn't G2, G4 predecessor? Shouldn't it be better in colour accuracy, plus G4 is advertised with Quantum IPS Display......

She then replied me, oh this is a new feature of the screen. Saying something like whiter screen is brighter, a lot customer complain battery drain. This screen will not drain as much battery. This is just ********, it's like saying permanent night shift is the new feature.

After a while, they got my screen changed on the spot, came back to me, it is still the same. Very disappointed with LG. I ended up rooting my phone and use KPPD to adjust the value. Have to change Red and Green value to 220 to 230 to be as close to the original G4.

Anyone has this issue as well?

I do noticed the phone colour got a bit washed out under bright light previously, but no issue from me..

the wash out under bright light (especially under direct sunlight) I think is an auto brightness feature to make it more visible or something. It happens on both the old and new LCD to my knowledge.

my LCD was also replaced with the new batch due to image retention and I also can tell the colour is less accurate than before (albeit slightly, and not beyond my personal tolerance threshold) and then of course there's the phantom input issue when plugged into certain USB chargers

I think it was launched about this period of time last year, so there should be some units about to or just passed warranty period.

But definitely not Feb/Mar.
