Phone got the bootloop issue, went down, and another week later, they change my mobo from 505 to 605 and change my LCD display after I mentioned to them about the LCD burn in as well.

However, the LCD panel seems to be too yellowish when I collected it when compared to my friend's G4. The CSO could see the yellowish screen straight away. He directed me to another CSO, initially the CSO said the display has different batch thus the colour will be different. I told her, I understand if it is just a little bit. (More on that later).

I tried to ask for a replacement, even after taking out my LG G2 to compare with my G4, the CSO told me it's a different model.
I was like isn't G2, G4 predecessor? Shouldn't it be better in colour accuracy, plus G4 is advertised with Quantum IPS Display......

She then replied me, oh this is a new feature of the screen. Saying something like whiter screen is brighter, a lot customer complain battery drain. This screen will not drain as much battery. This is just ********, it's like saying permanent night shift is the new feature.

After a while, they got my screen changed on the spot, came back to me, it is still the same. Very disappointed with LG. I ended up rooting my phone and use KPPD to adjust the value. Have to change Red and Green value to 220 to 230 to be as close to the original G4.

Anyone has this issue as well?
Oh no I just asked them to change the screen too due to the image retention issue. collecting it tomorrow, hoping I don't get such issue

i recall buying it during feb-mar 2015

the Singapore launch was 30th May so even us pioneer batch of G4 buyers still have like half a week of warranty left.

i think for your case since it has been opened and serviced by a 3rd party before the bigger issue is whether LG may consider that a warranty void from tampering, etc

The washed out screen under sunlight is normal. Got that even with my old screen, it made the screen more view-able.

Ya, waiting to see if anyone gets the same issue.
When at 100% brightness, on a push i can deal with it.
but when the screen is down to 50% I can't take it anymore, the screen will be too yellowish, even when I am browsing forum, the white is too yellowish.

Will go down in the next 2 weeks again hopefully can get it fix before my warranty ends next month.

It is worst when you view it in on the spot. (Left my friend G4, Right my serviced G4)

Yes. Your screen looks very yellowish..

I think their so-called Quantum display is a failure.

Wa, really too yellow. Think LG technicians are color blind, cannot distinguish white from yellow. lol

After boot loop, now maybe need to start a poll if users had repaired screen with yellow tint.

Shucks.
It's quite yellow.

The G3 I had last time was quite similar to yours.
Had two G3(s).

The first one I had was too cool (blue) while the second one I had was too warm (yellow). The huge difference is probably due to them having different batches / suppliers.

Takes a little time to get used to, after sometime - either the glue dried up and it became whiter - which I think it did or I got used to it.

H815-SEA 506 batch. So far still going strong with 2mos warranty left. Bootloader unlocked anyway, so don't think can claim warranty if anything happens. #fingerscrossed

Based on woshiitcy's post where the CSO claimed the yellow was a battery saving feature I think LG is just trying to find excuses to justify its use of the inferior batch of LCD, or an excuse to avoid admitting it as a 'defect' because once they admit defect, they'd be obliged to replace it with a 'proper white' display

oh well so much for DCI standard colours, it was nice while it lasted (9-10 months)

So far we know old batch of screens have image retention, while new batch is yellowish.

Anyone else had other encounters?

Lucky the white on my new screen is fine. Compared to AMOLED screen on my S3, it is more yellowish.

Btw.. LG software update is a freaking joke.. we are stuck on V20c and the security patch is still 1 Jan 2016 after more than 5 months. **** you Lousy Goods! Thanks God I can finally root and flash a custom ROM next month!

Wrote an email in, and ended up got the same CSO getting back to me again *facepalm* was hoping to get someone from a higher management.
Told me the same thing again for the first 3mins... and I said to wait for a new batch to come in and give me a call and she is okay with it. Will call them on the 15th of June if I have not heard from them soon, cause my warranty ends of 30th June :(

Oh ya, anyone has good technical knowledge on phone?
Is it possible that the yellow screen can be cause by the mobo?(If so I can request to change that)
Or maybe the kernel display driver or something?

What you mean you can finally custom ROM next month?
Is yours a SEA model or EU? Is there a going to be an unlock of the bootloader for SEA next month?

Oh btw, those who have root access on your yellow screen G4, you can temporarily follow this thread to temporarily correct the colour :)
