Hi guys,
I had my phone screen go dead on me just mad pixels not exactly a cracked screen. Bought a replacement screen(s$60 from aliexpress) and switched it perfectly. Question is would I still be under warranty if I head back to a shop to say get repairs done if the phone dies on me. I bought the phone on the day it got released as well and seeing how there are a bunch of owners with dead phones it scares me. Also is the bootloader finally unlocked? And also i'm on a rooted phone with xposed install on version 10C would it be advisable to upgrade.
Hats-off to u for replacing the screen for $60. Warranty for the whole set will be void, if they notice the changes in terms of the replacement of the screen or other hardware etc.. On rare cases, they may honour your warranty for a one time RMA and thereafter, warranty gets void - I have such experience with Samsung only as for LG not too sure.

Bootloader can be unlocked via LG official method but that means details of your phone will be captured in LGs database. Warranty will be void for unlocked bootloaders. As of now, there is no way to relock it back.

As for your firmware, if you are happy then stick with it. I am on 10D and personally, I feel its a better one vs 10a, 10b, 10e and MM 20a.

Hi All,

I also encountered the same boot loop issue. Brought down to the service and called them to check on status and they said it's the motherboard.

Brought down on 28th / 29th Dec and would be collecting it tomorrow.

I am No. 8 on the list, and I have yet to send in (since Nov).

Was naively hoping that it would revive itself, but no, now it can't even power up liao.

Probably send it in tomorrow morning. I got an unfilled warranty card, is it enough?

Hi radiancez,
It should be enough as the phone is released less than a year (so all local sets are still under warranty).

It would be better if you bring along the receipt/proof of purchase or recontract letter for LG to verify and update your actual warranty start date into their system.

Otherwise, they would base your warranty on its date of manufacture.

Cheers!

I chased them for it. When I called them on the 3rd day ... they said it's not even repaired yet. You have to chase them. They give me the impression that will take their own sweet time to resolve this if no pushing from my end.

Have given up hope on LG mobile phones. Am going to sell it once it's back. Looking at other brands.

Hi,

I have also been having issues with my LG G4 phone: stuck in the boot loop. Thinking of sending it to the service centre but I have not registered for warranty nor do I still have the receipt.

It is a local set.
Wondering if they would charge for the repairs.:(

Just wondering, anyone knows how to reset the G4 to non telco set? Like changing the CSC to XSP like we can do so in Samsung phones hidden menu? Can't seems to find that option in the G4 hidden menu.

In this way, I can get the MM update over LG Bridge.

Do you get it from the Telco?
The Telco contract is accepted as proof of purchase as well.
If you no longer have the contract, can always get it from Telco again.

Hi good afternoon mousefish! :)

All is in good order.
Receipt as proof of purchase is sufficient.

Dont worry, it is covered under warranty.

Cheers! :)
