isnt it available via software update? Most people here have talked about updating to V20b

honestly im not happy with MM so far. I literally see and feel no advantage compared to lollipop and instead have these problems:

- Non-LG apps when they create files on SD card, somehow the PC cant read the file data when phone is plugged in, it feels like LG didnt implement the MM SD card permissions thing properly. This happens to every SD card i mounted on the phone and it could be the dealbreaker feature that makes me want to trade it in ASAP once i see a new phone i want to get

- battery drain is worse

- screen auto brightness feels a lot less reliable, there have been moments where the screen failed to turn brighter when i went outdoors

things like these are why unlike most people i am actually not eager for new android updates from 1 generation to another, because my experience has taught me that the companies seem to only properly test the new android on their upcoming flagships. For older phones receiving the OTA, the software may be done in a half-assed manner and brings a lot of problems you previously never had.

It is for these reasons that some prefer Google nexus phones. I'm thinking very hard whether to sell off my Nexus 6p and get the V10 launched this Saturday.

i would be more open to getting nexus if they had external storage. For me its a safety measure that I never keep important stuff like photos locally on internal storage.

Like this case when my G4's 505 series motherboard died on the morning of 23rd Dec. It was a sudden and instant total loss of everything on the internal storage

Yeah that time I just took some graduation photos of my girl, and the phone died before I even reach home. As my photo backup to cloud is only over wifi, so they weren't backed-up to the cloud. But luckily they were saved on my ext memory card, so they weren't wiped out. Can't rely on phone that doesn't support external memory.

True, SD card slot is the way to go. All my photos are saved to it. If mobo gone like the current issue, and photos not saved to cloud, goodbye liao.

I have received the SMS and collected my phone today. Sent in my phone on 31 Dec as well.
New mother board is of serial no 612.
Since my bootloader is already unlocked, the customer service person told me that my warranty is void, but they do not charge me this time :D
But for any future repair, will have to pay (which is fair enough).

I agree. The slight improvement in speed with MM is not worth the heating issues and the horrible battery drain that I'm experiencing. For users who have not upgraded, may be best to hold out till LG fixes the bugs.

If their motherboard croaks again I dont think I'll even want to consider future repair already... by then will be 'future device' and would certainly think twice about getting LG.

Once is already bad enough. If your manufacturing is so bad as to have 2 batches of motherboards 6 months apart die, you pretty much deserve to lose customers

Sometimes i really wonder what can constitute to a recall given a trend of a sudden failure from a certain batch. Abysmal QC.

G4 user here... Batch 508. Just upgraded to mm. Used lg bridge and it went thru smoothly. Speed improved a lot. Much better than lollipop. And i like the fact that now the system allows u to choose what permissions to give to an app. Overall satisfied with mm and got no issue so far. Been using mm 2 days now

Sorry thread too long and i may have missed it out... Anybody succeeded with rooting mm v20b? Really wanting to root as i want to install adaway to block ads

Sent from iPhone 666 using GAGT

There's a catch. Unlike lolli with MM you will have to unlock the bootloader before you can root. As of now, there is no method to relock the bootloader back in which case, if you need to claim warranty it will be void.
