Nice! I wonder how much did they spent on Jason Statham instead of improving on the design! :s8:

Most probably.. LG does not have a good reputation in SG anyway. Their customer service centre really sucks. I heard Huawei got even a faster and better service than LG.. Not sure whether it's true.

I am gonna avoid these two S.Korean companies when I am upgrading my phone next time!

I am not sure about Huawei customer service but heard that their mobile phone got 2 years warranty.

Huawei does have 2 years warranty. But is for selected models like the Mate 8.

I like the module concept of G5 but really don't like the design and build of G5.
Will see how is the Huawei P9. if not will get the Huawei mate 8 gold this round.

Maybe the LG G5 SE is Snapdragon 652 version of LG G5. Who knows?

the snapdragon 652 version actually sounded like an interesting idea to me cos it might be less battery hungry than the 820... but then i remembered the screen is still QHD...

Anyway im pretty sure the SE is just a trademark meaning they chope the name in case they want to use in future.

The 652 version was already confirmed named G5 Lite and is only sold in certain markets.

instead of highlighting the phone features they chose to waste the screentime on wacky antics

its the same thing that failed HTC's marketing campaign with robert downey jr

Samsung also had a 'nonsense' commercial with lil wayne pouring the champange on the phone but if you notice, the ads that you see now on TV and in the cinema are the sensible ones showing the S7's waterproofing and low light photography. G5 doesnt have that.

It is like Oppo F1 Plus is the International version of Oppo R9.

im sure every brand has its diehard fans. there might even still be blackberry fans out there who knows

I really hope the HTC 10 is fantastic not cos im a HTC fan but because i dont want the android world to become a Samsung-LG duopoly

LG isn't even no 5 globally for smartphones. Even Huawei and Xiaomi are larger.

stock camera G5 (left) vs stock camera G4 (right) at the bugis M1, im comparing the extreme edge of the photos, where image noise has the highest risk to appear

111111.png

both ISO50, 1/30s.

2222.jpg

both 1/30s but the G5 got ISO50, G4 got ISO100 in their auto

Unlike my previous try, this time i forced HDR off on both and finally you can visibly see that the G5 dealt with RGB noise way more elegantly than the G4 when shooting in auto.

however the wide angle lens by the way is underwhelming in image quality. its something along the same level of image quality as the front selfie cam so if youre using it at night or in a dim indoor place, you will likely be disappointed.

I think thats because they have a hold on the china market share along with others like lenovo, thats a big pie that LG cant get a share of
