sounds like Jaime from Pocketnow prefers G5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lIddbNC5cE&nohtml5=False
I tried the demo set at M1 bugis.
The feel of the phone does not feel metal, more plastic.
Seems like the lg staff stationed there does not know the price, even the actual launch date(a vague 2weeks time)
Hope they lower the price lol

Agree with your assesement bro, Utility wise G5 is better but concerns areAfter so much reading about G5 and S7.
I would say that people should go for G5.
S7 is a glass-rounded's beauty but in practical, G5 has the all-round practicalities to be used as a days to days mobile phone!
For practicality, I would choose the G5's removeable battery feature and wide angle lens many times over S7's water proof feature and yet a non-wide angle lens.
Think about it, even S7 is so called water proof, but again, how many times you are actually find yourself in need of that water-proof feature....or you really dare to "test" the S7's water-proof feature in a deep ocean or in a super heavy rain days in, days out!The first thing users do is to keep their $800-900+ phone away from water and rain be it water-proof or not...!
Some more, G5's friends gadgets are innovative and give users the choice of buying what they need whereas S7 is just another powerful new phone....nothing spectacular in term of innovation with just a more powerful camera and what else....Hmmmm?!
Last but not least. No matter how beautiful your phone is. The moment you put on a casing which 99% users do, there is basically nothing special after that be it glass-build or non-glass build...
My 2 cents!![]()
Agree with your assesement bro, Utility wise G5 is better but concerns are
1) curve top of the screen means cannot apply glass sp?
2) Gap will let in water and dust /the former is especially dangerous considering the battery is inside (thought can be mitigated with using a case)
3) battery life might be an issue (but with replaceable batteries, this isnt that bad)
in the end will depend on the pricing, if they make it competitive as LG has done for the G3 and G4, then maybe pple might still take the plunge

Sharing my experience as a former LG G3 and V10 user who is currently using Samsung S7 edge.
Positive about S7
1. Excellent battery life. No doubt LG battery is replaceable, but still the idea of having more than 1 day battery life is tempting. With the same usage pattern and 100% charge at 7a.m, for LG V10, I will probably hit 30% at 7-8p.m. With S7E, I can hit 20% in 1.5 days. And with fast charging, I can charge from 20%->100% using quick charge for S7E in 1.5hrs.
2. Camera - S7E is ultra fast in focusing and snapping of pics. I have shots that I can snap in 1/1xxx or even 1/2xxx shutter speed @ ISO-50 in auto mode for outdoor. For LG V10, the fastest I encountered was 1/400 @ ISO-50 in auto mode. At times, I do even get slightly blur shot in outdoor during daytime and sometimes out of focus with LG.
3. Camera flash - much usable in S7E compared with LG series. The pre-flash and actual flash is much shorter/snappier than LG despite the lack of laser auto focus.
4. Dual-SIM implementation - even though you select a default SIM, still at dial-pad, you can choose another SIM on the fly. You can't do that in LG V10.
5. Much lighter and compact compared with LG V10.
What I miss about LG ?
1. Knock Knock definitely is something high on my list. Though S7E do not have double knock, they do have something like placing your palm over the phone and it will wake up. But the implementation only work well if the phone is place on a flat surface.
2. Android virtual Home key. I'm still skeptical about the lifespan of a mechanical button.
3. Selfie flash - LG got a much better implementation where the screen flash is active while you are framing your shot. As for S7E, it will only activate only after the shutter is activated.
4. Selfie activation - LG palm and clench your fist is a much better implementation. S7E, the moment it detected a palm, the timer will start counting.
If LG G5 main camera is going to be similar to LG V10, then I guess nothing much has changed other than the inclusion of another wide angle camera.
You can check out Huawei P9 in partner with Leica.
2. Android virtual Home key. I'm still skeptical about the lifespan of a mechanical button.
Yah but most phone battery only bloat with overcharging after a few years, nowadays the Bros here change their phones every month, so usually won't become issueActually the only reason I'm getting LG is bcoz of removable battery. Able to change for new if battery gets really bloated.

Thanks! That's sounds comforting. Now i spread my usage between the home and power button. If possible will use the palm gesture to wake up the phone.i used the s4 for 3yrs, and my home button still works perfectly fine.

I probably skeptical due to iphone4 era
