actually, why people need the app drawer so badly? Shouldn't useless apps be uninstalled/removed anyway. Only bloatwares are useless apps isn't it we won't keep those unnecc apps and just delete them if they are crappy, so i don't quite get it about the app drawer debate

The concept of app drawers so that the widgets have a place in the home screen and not everytime you would need to open an app to check on something (eg: calendar, to do list, reminders,weather). You would say then just put the widgets but by doing so you would need to scroll more just to get to the apps. The no.1 reason how android is better than iOS, you'll have the information at a glance.

Atleast on the S7 you can activate or deactivate the app drawer giving the users choice.

But i can see LG doing this on an update if enough users support of this feature as LG has a good history of listening to their user base.

While that is true, it should not be an excuse on the part of the manufacturer to skimp on necessary additions.

Else one day you're going to see a laptop with only one USB port, then people will come and say "thats why we have USB hubs."

Imagine this:

Your PC is running windows.

There is no such thing as Program Files or Windows Explorer. Lets assume also your PC has no bloatware.

Every new program you install, the exe of the program sits on your desktop. All your MS Office, all your games, your adobe programs, web browser, that driver control software for your mouse, your skype, your media player, your winrar, your torrent client, even the MS paint, notepad, command prompt, calculator and other accessories are there.

Essentially your desktop turned into a dumping ground of everything you own. You try to organise. So you create folders. Then you instead have a mass of folders sitting on your desktop.

Its easy to think that every user doesnt have "useless apps", but we android users take the app drawer for granted because we dont realise how many apps we use and rely on, we take for granted that the drawer is the reason we can avoid cluttering our screens with icons and folders and never have to suffer the housekeeping that iOS users have to do to their homescreens to prevent it turning into a app drawer itself.

My home screen only have like 2 pages of apps other apps are in the menu with no shortcut.. with no app drawer i will need to create folders to store those apps shortcut. If a user have tons of apps their home screen will be quite messy so i understand why they do want a app drawer..

Maybe it is like LGV10, just need to double tap the screen to wake it den place the finger on the fingerprint sensor, phone will unlock.

Or if you do not wish to double tap to wake the phone, u can press the fingerprint sensor button to unlock it.

sad but true, u only need to see where the design cue come from ... aka looking at you Mr Fruit

there are a few articles saying liao, LG G5 & S7 all have no preference for app drawer ...

who dare to say Android phone jack will be here by next 1-2 edition if apple really does go with it ?

ie, chances are if you are here / commenting / reading ... you have some knowledge of andorid - custom launchers, ROM, root, etc

and the beauty of android is that you can get around it ...

except the removal of earphone connection .....

Already mentioned it's a button + fingerprint sensor, so yes, will need to press, just like the LG V10. There is no button on the fingerprint sensor for N6P/N5X, so nothing to press.

yes, last time i jumped fr ios to isheep also v confused why got app drawer and seeing duplicates, then to realize how it works like a pc desktop. at least i find widget darn useful! not sure if it hogs resources tho, which i believe it should be using some rams. yep, alternative they no need to come up with a toggle to activate app drawer so users can choose - customization is android's ability right?

sadly, now google wants to be like apple, doing it their own way... i miss kitkat's version of black theme which is so much easier on the eyes

i get what you mean, mostly to keep things neat and tidy like a pc desktop to use the commonly open apps. duno leh, maybe my phone isn't filled up with a lot of apps in the first place. mainly i've categorized the folders as: news, games, google, transport, miscellaneous and useless folder it seems overwhelming but really those apps that i seldom use is most of the time either miscellaneous and useless category

No Apps Drawer! LG screwed big time! That's one of the best selling point of ANdroid over iOS!

hannor quite angry some of the apps cannot uninstall and in useless folder, that's where app drawer comes to play. unless manufacturer allows us to uninstall their bloatwares me using xiaomi, no app drawer huan... i will only keep it to a max of 2pages of apps and 2pages of widgets

i guess this move is to provide a simplistic way of getting around the phone without causing confusion - what you see on screen is all the available apps. i admit when i first gotten an android phone 4years ago, it's complicated but after some time get the gist of app drawer, which is really just a fine way of getting rid of bloatware apps mainly and the less frequently used apps
