Around $600 used set can hoot?

Used local set going for around 670-700 it seems? So actually not that much difference. Considering LG's track record for bootloops in the past years, i would say warranty is worth more if you're planning to use long term. :s13:

Is G6 also have flash memory issue? I thought all have UFS 2.0, but mine always showing LESS 500mbps in Androbench. Tried 3 times with fresh from restart and run optimized before testing.

Can anyone confirm?

saw this, seems my result is consistent. LG G6 seems using slow UFS 2.0. Slowest compare to S8 and P10 (lottery lol).

i went up to skypark to see if i could photograph the gardens by the bay with the star wars spotlight display on the supertrees, so I compared some of my G6 long exposure shots with previous similar shots on my G4

(all shots were with tripod and ND filter)

Shot #1: Singapore Flyer

A 100% crop of both phones shooting at 1/4s, my personal limit for shooting handheld slow shutter without a tripod available

(yes the G4 seem way blurry but this is handheld shooting so either the OIS can keep up or it cant)

main takeaways:
- G6 does more sharpening in processing (there is slight blur in the singapore flyer shot, especially evident on the white road markings, but that is motion blur from wind sway)

- The colour balance on the G6 is waaaaaaay better

what the?! LG G6 uses eMMC5.1???

Follow the step here to check the manufacturer and model of flash chip used. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/ufs-2-0-2-1-identify-flash-chip-s8-t3601656

You will see that it's from "Skhynix" with model number H28U74303AMR (shown mine)

Googling this model and company you will see here https://www.skhynix.com/eng/product/nandEMMC.jsp

Although, the current model is not reflected there. Seems safe to say that company distributes eMMC5.1.

That's why it's so slow compare to P10 and S8 who uses UFS (terms of transfer rate).

Again, the truth comparison.

It's not surprising if G6 is using eMMC. If you checked LG website, they never state their onboard storage memory type. It like a lottery. You can't say they false advertising like Huawei P10/plus. Haha..

Indeed, G6 looks better even it's using an old 2015 camera sensor! Interesting!

OT: You sold off Huawei P10 plus?

Problem is almost all sites saying it uses UFS 2.0. Maybe that's the spec and tech device LG provided them when they do reviews etc. for benchmark scoring.

But for retail they uses eMMC5.1.

Or maybe Asia and US/UK version have diff version. Hope anyone can confirm.

LG is playing safe buy not stating this officially on their site.

Some sites stating it uses UFS 2.0

EDIT: I message LG on FB, let's see what they will say about this. haha

So this year storage is a new issue. S8/+ also got UFS 2.0/2.1 lottery issue.

seems so. manufacturers tried to release their phones on sched even if there's shortage on the memory supply. hoping no one will notice or take action. lol

S8/+ --- atleast uses UFS, 2.0 is still manageable
G6 --- if confirmed should be using UFS 2.0, this is cheating, since there's a huge diff between UFS and eMMC
P10/+ --- this is the worst, stating UFS 2.1 but you will get eMMC, this sucks big time.

To those saying this should not matter (not here, other forum), it's a big lol. you paid v exp price for premium, yet you get the same specs from old phones.
Given the size of media and apps/games now, this memory specs plays a big role too. you will really notice the difference.

Anybody can share whether video recording pulses badly when left on auto focus? Like if you're shooting from a tripod?
