Based on my V20 camera quality against S7 la. Aiyoh.

From the Android central podcast, they feel that S8 camera will not be improvement over S7. Instead Samsung will be adding more gimmicky stuffs like retina scanner, VR etc instead.

haha, the shameless testing adverts is everywhere. On youtube, on browser, on TV, everywhere man. they really doing damage control
but you have to give it to them if they do offer a full refund policy for the S8 here in singapore.

I've never used LG before... How is the laginess and typing speed?

I've tried pixel not bad, now on mate 9 also not bad.

Itchy to try LG g6 cos of wide angle camera but not sure if typing will be laggy,?

Usually laginess will appear when using apps like Gmail then try to reply a long email... The typing will slow down

Ya man! The brainwashing adverts is just so irritating. Seems to me that Samsung is not even doing enough tests before the fiasco and now trying to paint a better picture.

But then, not everything is good with G6 as well. Speed is certainly not its forte.

thats kind of the problem

the problem is there is no big deal



samsung may have had only 1 battery incident, with the note7, but thanks to their marketing department, they have enjoyed great sales and branding exposure since the very beginning

LG's phone have been bootlooping since the G4, and the general news outlets dont even care enough to report on it. Its as if LG isnt even worth talking about, regardless of whether their devices are good or not. And I dont blame the public. LG's marketing is indeed that bad. When I wanted to hands-on the G4 back in 2015 before it came out, I had to travel to one of only 2-3 specific M1 outlets in the whole country, just to see a demo unit on display.

It's not just 1 battery incident. It's a very serious that already caused enough troubles throughout the world especially for those who travel on planes. If it is just a "no big deal", Samsung will not keep brainwashing us with the same safety advert over and over again. Bootloop don't kill / explode and it did not spread like wild fire like what happened to Samsung battery fiasco. Its fine of you have no confident of LG phones after G4. My friend's G5 has been a year and it is still going strong. My V20 so far so good as well and I shall see how it still perform after a year. I mean IPhone had bad anntena gates problems too yet people are fine with iPhone after that because it doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.

Can't comment about LG marketing. When I got my V20, I got it straight from Starhub after it was officially available. No hassle at all. I do see adverts about V20 on Starhub though. Anyways, if I wanna get a phone I will just get it regardless of its adverts. Advertising is for the company to worry about it, not me. Perhaps things will be better now for G6 since it has gotten so much attention after MWC.

Just my 2cents.

ya the sad thing is LG has bad marketing but occasionally good phones

HTC has bad marketing and bad phones and i think after their last decent phone, the 10 didnt get enough sales they just gave up

Sorry, to clarify my "no big deal" comment was referring to LG bootloop, not Note7 battery. Cos initially you were saying "what's the big deal of LG bootloop man".

Customer engagement is simply no big deal with LG. When the phone is good, they dont try to market it. When the phone has problem, they dont try to acknowledge it and offer a fix. Its like they just make a flagship for the sake of it and dont care how well or badly it does cos they know their aircon and TV sales will offset whatever loss the mobile side incurs. Samsung wont shut up about how sorry they are about the note7 battery but it shows that they still care about customer sales to an extent and are flexing their marketing muscle for it. How I wish LG can release an ad about how they're promising no more bootloop, no more image retention on their LCD etc but they dont even care.

It's fine. No need for the apology. Just some friendly discussions. :D

IMO, every company has their way of doing businesses. As a consumer, I don't care how much they invested on marketing as long as the product I using is in good shape and perform well. As long as I get good customer supports when I need it. See how Apple trying to market the IP7 camera portrait mode but I don't even care because I prefer LG's wide angle camera instead and that's more useful for me.

Samsung cannot stop showing how they care about customers because the Note 7 battery happenings are simply too much to be ignored. Samsung had offered customers to exchange for Note 7 that were installed with batteries from a different supplier but that didn't help and ended up as a second blow. IMO, LG which is not having as big customer bases like Samsung, and while bootloops are bad, it is better not to announce to the world about it as bootloops are not as devastating as Note 7 incidents. If every OEM in the world is going to come out and apologize about the cases happening on their products, I bet we will tons of similar brainwashing adverts instead of shows on the TV. :s13::s13:

As a customer myself, I don't see the point of apologizing. The damage is already done. If my V20 is ever unfortunately to have bootloop, I will boycott buying LG phones too in the future. I'm not siding with LG here. Once bitten, twice shy. FYI, my old Samsung Note 4 original battery was bloated too before the Note 7 fiasco but since it has removable battery, I was fine with it and changed to a new battery. My much older S4 had motherboard power leakage as well and that happened just after 1 yr of warranty. So, I'm not just bashing Samsung for the fun of it. I had enough of Samsung phones and I gotten myself V20 instead of Note 7 (which was a blessing).

Anyways, Samsung is trying to make a come back with S8, so is LG with the G6. With the G6 different design approach from last year G5, the new 2:1 screen ratio with minimum bezels, as well as keeping the power camera capabilities from V20, are things that I see LG brings onto the table for 2017. Let's see what Samsung has on the sleeves with the S8. But with the past bad experiences I had from Samsung, just like your bad experiences with G4, LG is the preferred OEM for me now. :)

Not true, I'm an ex Note 7 user. Was inconvenienced greatly having to exchange my Note 7 three times. So I'm not really rushing to buy a Samsung S8 S8+. Still have a bad aftertaste in my mouth. Oh yeah, greatly inconvenienced when I couldn't take my note 7 on my trips last year.
