I have been using my nfc sim with the v20 ever since it came out. No issue at all lei.
Did you use the Transit NFC function for taking MRT/Bus? The SIM card can be used ad a normal SIM card without problem. I am also using it right now with my V20. But SingTel said it is not a recommended phone for the Transit NFC function.

Did some search online, reason is that dac is not utilized on 3rd party apps hence the differences, hope they fix it soon. Solution is go dl face fix, its meant for v10 but it works for v20.

I'm back using my neutron now. I like the stock player too but the way they org files annoys me. Using aiff and alac with CF Vega
Hope it helps!

I thought the dac will be enabled as long as the 3.5mm jack is plugged? Regardless of software.

This is not true for the V20. You can test if the app works with the Hifi DAC by switching it on and off while the player is playing music. If you hear the thing switch off (a short silence) while you disable the Hifi function, means the app works with the Hifi DAC.

No, while majority of software works without any input from us, you can double check by disabling the DAC function while the player of your choice is running. If you do not notice a short silence after disabling the DAC function it means the app for whatever reason bypassing the DAC.

Can dl on playstore.

Even if u trigger the hifi-dac, some app still do not utilize the dac. I'm basing on my finding with neutron app only. Just by listening to stock and neutron, u can hear the differences. But after doing the dac fix, they are on par.

For other apps, claim was based on other users who did testing with other music apps. Can easily do a search online for the discussions.

This is just my findings, may not be accurate.

I tested my music with the default player, trigger the hifi-dac and I also can't hear any differences. Maybe the reason is because I'm using the XM piston earphones. LOL..... :s13:

I think you are the lucky kind. No need buy high end earphones or dac. I got friends like that also. Use the cheapo value shop earbuds and the VE monks also cannot tell the difference.

Neutron and stock player play music differently. Even when you use PowerAMP and Neutron it will sound different without any tweaks. My suspicion is the DAC is dependent on how the audio software output music.

Yup i use it nearly everyday, i even use the top up machine to add the value the "sim". No issue at all, just need to remember the nfc is at the camera area. First time i try using the v20 i tap at the b&o area which doesn't work make me look like retard lol.
