Google... don't see any reason to sync with outlook, since it will only be syncing locally, i.e., outside outlook it will be useless, so not seeing any advantage in syncing with outlook.

Google contacts ok. Not using outlook contacts here. Since its android, I don't see the point of using outlook.

Outlook web or Outlook client (as in the software installed on your computer)? If Outlook web, I'm doing it now. No issues so far. I do all contacts sync to my Microsoft account. If you use that, it will auto populate your Outlook client as well when you set up the same Microsoft account in there. Not many do offline sync these days as the main thing is to auto backup your precious data :)

Any known fixes? Came from my my old note 4 so this is a big improvement haha.

Sent from LGE LG-H990 using GAGT

How lagging is yours? I noticed it lags these few days not sure bkoz im in a cold country or what. But I do notice it extremely lags when I have some apps running in the foreground before the screen blanks off specifically Google map and games. Otherwise it wont take more than 1-2secs.

Also an ex-Note 4 here... its really a big improvement haha. I dont even miss the stylus after 1.5mths other than when doing image editing on the v20.

If sync outlook you need to set your email as an exchange account. Can sync contact and calendar.

tell me more about it bros!

i want to sync my contacts and calendar with my outlook 2016.

in order to view my google calendar on my outlook, i can only do it via webcal. and the sync is only 1 way. i can't add/delete/amend my contacts and calendar from my outlook 2016, it's in view only mode. i can't remember how did i get my contact

i would like it to work both ways, say i add/delete/amend my contacts/calendar on my phone, my outlook/hotmail account is auto updated. and upon opening my outlook program, the outlook is sync automatically.

or when i add/delete/amend my contacts/calendar in my outlook 2016, my phone will be updated instantly.

apple has a icloud/outlook sync which allows the phone and outlook sync automatically.

if i can get this workaround by storing my contacts and calendar on outlook or hotmail, i'll just do it.

i really wanna switch to android ecosystem and owning this v20.

Bad comparison, can't compare phone and TV. Do you see your TV screen as close as you see your phone screen? If you are, you may want to consult an optometrist.

The closer you see the screen, the higher the PPI you will need, e.g., 2k/4K are preferable for VR, 1080p also works, but won't be as nice, will look pixelated.

How close need to stare at your screen to see pixels on your phone screen at 1080p?
How long can you stare at it too?
VR part is true that all.

actually, I don't have any NEEDS... LOL... just WANTS... which is why I'm still just using a Nokia Asha...

I WANT to have a good camera with good sound phone that is reliable and has good battery life... ideally with a dedicated expandable memory slot and removable battery (nice to have).

LG V20 fits all my WANTS... just a bit concerned that there is a bootloop issue waiting to kill my phone... and the build quality doesn't seem as robust as the earlier V10...

and of cos the battery life isn't that good, though I can always get a zero lemon or another ori battery to swap out... (at extra cost)

So, because of the above, am considering the Mate 9 instead... though the camera and sound is not as good as the LG V20... but perhaps it's good enough for simple, impromptu point n shoot pics??? If I really want to take good pics, I'd use a proper DSLR, not a phone cam.

And the Mate 9's bigger battery means I don't have to worry about carrying another battery around or spending more $ to buy a zero lemon battery...

What about the UI? I only get to spend a bit of time playing with the demo sets so don't really know the quirks of either... which is more useful / less problematic?

I generally use Chrome browser for FB (including flash based games) and emails. Some Whatsapp and Waze (esp when driving to an unfamiliar location). Take pics. Would LIKE to use my phone to listen to music as I have lots of FLAC music files and good earphones... just can't do it now cos of my current phone's limitations.

So, based on the above, which phone would be more suitable for me?
V20 for all these.

Did I say how close one need to stare at a phone screen to see pixels?

I did not argue that 1080p res is _not_ good enough for a phone screen.

Obviously, you did not read and missed the point of my post completely. I simply said that TV screen cannot be compared with a phone screen resolution, since the distance at which we watch/see/stare at the screen is very much different. This is exactly the point I mentioned in my first paragraph.

My second paragraph was giving an example where 2k/4k res on a phone screen will be better, which is for VR, did not mention for regular use or argued otherwise.

If I would want to argue on 1080p res, I wouldn't argue simply based on the resolution, because even similar phones with the same resolution may look different, e.g., the PenTile AMOLED display on OnePlus looks more pixelated than my 1080p OPO LCD.

You will be able to use the lg default email client and setup your outlook email as exchange.

Then allow and set what you wish you sync.

That's all...

Avoid using Exchange contacts to manage your phone contacts. Big mess. Stick with Google. Not a LG thing, it's Outlook/Exchange thing.

Your eyes must be supersensitive to be able to see pixel on 1080p display. Well I couldn't even distinguish significantly with 2k display. I had used both types of display too and now currently having V20, Mate9, One plus 3T and mi mix. I am perfectly happy with 1080p displays
