I am not sure if I am the only one having this issue. I just re-contracted Singtel contract from 200MBPS to the unlimited 1GBPS.
I was using the OEM Aztec dual band router from Singtel when under the 200mbps plan with 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ bands.
When I re-contract/upgraded the plan, I was told that the old router is not compatible with the new plan and need to change to a new router, after some readings and advices from bro here, I got the Linksys EA9200 router.
A brief orientation of my placing of router. (It is the same where I place my Aztech router which I do not encounter any problem using 5GHZ in my room).
Router is place beside the ONT connected with LAN cable, no wired connection to any device from the router. Most of my devices at home are iPhones and iPads, most of the days, 6-7 devices connected to the 2.4GHZ (including 2 ip cam) band and 2 devices (iPhone 6 and iPad 3) to the 5GHZ band.
The problem I am facing is internet dropping from wireless connection, on 5GHZ band, sometime, the coverage dropped to 2 bars, the. It will suddenly cut off from the Internet, same for the 2.4GHZ. The place where I place my router is about 5-7 meter away of coz with wall. I do not have such issue using the old router at the same place with the same device. I had contacted Linksys online help, troubleshoot every possible ways they recommend, settings, re-flashing of firmware etc but the problem still persist. Now, they are asking me to wait for their CSO to call me back.
I am really troubled by all these, old router is free, and I don't have such issue, this new router cost $299 after discount, but I am facing such problems. Any experts have any input? Please help!!!
