Hi guys

Just curious, is there a major shortage of local experienced Linux Admins? After 1.5 month of advertising, we only gotten about 21 application and out of the 20+ application, 15 are from overseas. out of the 6 local applicant, 4 have never done linux before and the only 1 after asking him a few questions we know he's not suitable for the job.

We pay our linux admin about 4-5k/mth. Is it not attractive enough?

Linux and UNIX systems is widely used in enterprise solutions in Singapore

You may want to redesign the job title abit
For example
Linux engineer
Server engineer (Linux)
System consultant , etc

Why not willing to give a chance to those who hasn't done it before? Unless they have a horrible attitude, I don't see why not (at a lower salary too).
