Still building the understanding with the attackers but Wirtz movement and passes is really good in the game.
Gakpo for once recognized the run from Kerkez and will start to pass to him, oso less cutting in to shot and crosses more to Isak to attack
Kerkez and Konate defended well this game
Gomez played well as our right back too
Slot should stick to this lineup for now and not go back to starting Salah again. He can come on as impact sub instead
I feel Kerkez and Wirtz are unlucky. Someone mentioned a lot of times even during the early few games, he created but nobody to finish and when he was in good positions, Salah decided to go on his own instead of passing to him. Then he became the scapegoat because of his stats, which is not entirely his fault if the player he passed to can't finish or if his team mate is selfish.
Same goes for kerkez, when he makes good runs, nobody passes to him they judge him for his mistakes. Fans only look at the results and who plays the final balls, they dont look at the build-up play. Thats what I observed about Nunez and Diaz in Klopp's last season. They were involved a lot in the build-up, Nunez created chaos without the ball and it helped the build-up play but now without him we dont have that chaos while also not being able to be precise with our play.
Klopp probably understood this: that it was easier to get 1 player to create chaos in the opponents' half than get half the team to be able to play technically superior and precise football. Nunez might be one of the worst finishers, but the fact was that he even got into so many good positions to miss those simple chances speaks alot about him. Isak and Ekitike are technically way more superior than him but look at how many such positions they can even get themselves in during an entire match. Most of the time they cant even get a shot off.
