Should I call the bank and transfer the money back? I read in some cases, the person who took the pics is also another person who owe UML.

You can ask bank to transfer back the amount but if after weeks it's still there, it means the bank cannot comply to your request. Then just keep it.

Just endure for a few weeks for any harassment. No guarantees if they will try persistently or simply give up since you ghost them.

Whatever you decide to do from now, do not ever relent and return the money.

That will be the beginning of more harassment, not the end. Who ever here suggests you return the money could be THEM or their associates or who want to prolong your suffering.

Remember to update your I/O for any harassment and be quick to call 999 if you feel they are harassing you at home.

SG_Guruz45, pasting the police report will not deter them. Putting a signage "Under CCTV surveillance" might.

These are scammers. You just continue to ghost them even if they start calling your workplace. Let your workplace know. Show the police report.

Stay vigilant. Stay strong. Good luck.

Help you dad to sweep up all the loans and dun repay. Losing business they will sure blacklist your dad and so no more next time

Please do not suggest to pay! UML will not stop.

You have not read at least 1 year's worth of post.

After we made a police report the day after, we blocked them and changed everything that I was stupid to give to them, and I no workplace, so lucky no workplace number to harass . it's just we always feel paranoid, then check cctv often. Alamak, forget cannot PM because under 10 post. But how do I deal with the fear of someone following me? I can defend myself but I understand that that I might be charged for fighting, and there's always going to be this feeling of looking over my shoulder for god knows how long? I know these are scammers, but still have to be precautious.

No one will follow you around, very sure of that. We give them too much credit with our imagination.

As long the scam or harassment happened in this country, they are the ones who have to look over their shoulder if they even dare to visit your place.

Whoever they send to harass basically will do a quick job of eg. splash paint and run. They don't dare bang on your door and send someone to follow you around. It put their runners at risk of getting caught. I have been following posts at SPF website since last year and these runners are eventually caught, some within days. We have hundreds of thousand of SPF CCTV everywhere. That helps a lot.

Speaking of the runners, they are not the military-trained type but either clueless ordinary people, themselves scammed into doing the harassment or debtor forced by the UML.

I understand the paranoia but these UMLs are not even 0.1% the gangsters of Macau triad snakeheads.

Don't carry them so high. All hiding behind phones. Could turn out to be just a geeky nerd who knows only to talk tough but no balls.

Have faith. You are on the right track. I also watch my CCTV live feed more often than TV during that period but realise it's kind of silly now.

You just need to be vigilant, not paranoid, at home. Be quick to call 999 if you suspect anything outside your unit. It's ok if it turns out to be nothing and don't feel bad about making the police officers turn up at your place. Just show them the SPF report and they understand it's not a false call.

These UML are scammers and are usually not stupid enough to show face to actually physically harm you, neither will their runners. They are mainly playing mind games with you, torturing u mentally trying to break you down so you will pay them.

You are lucky enough they didn't harras your workplace, they did it to mine recently and made me lose my job but im still hanging in there, staying strong.

Stay vigilant but don't overthink things. Try to live your life as per normal, stay positive and you should be able to get through this ordeal. *REMEMBER DO NOT PAY*

My NOK only paid out of fear when they spammed call, but we don't even owe them a single cent. They claimed that they xfered to my acc, but there were no transaction from them on that day. Even claimed I borrowed money in the first 2 weeks of June, but I didn't also. Most likely, these are scammers who use UML tactics right?

Do you guys ever experience LML debt collectors behaving like UML? Is there any standard protocol for LML debt collector regarding default payments?

There's a code of conduct for debt collectors in Singapore. But then it's just guidelines and not law.

What kind of behaviour are you referring to?

Rude and aggressive. Threatened to come my house and harass me and my family. This is my first time ever experiencing this.

Is this your first time defaulting payment, or got miss payments before? Sometimes LML can get confrontational with threats if they think borrowers not willing to pay. Maybe you can share more about your situation bro, then can know how better to advise.

Hope everyone is well. Been 6 Weeks all is good! Ghosting has worked very well considering the fact we were only harassed for a few hours. Still staying vigilant maybe they will strike again a couple of years later
