As a OCT, they needs to go though Common Leadership Module, Service Term, Social Events, Professional Term & Joint Term.

If I am now a NS LOGISTICS OFFICER & I sign on as a LOGISTICS OFFICER, I do not needs to attend any OCT Term & directly enter a unit.

If I am now a NS LOGISTICS OFFICER & I sign on as a eg: SIGNAL OFFICER, I only needs to attend Professional Term in Signal Institute & not OCS.

What I mean is if I am a NSman who attended LOCC & commission as a Logistics Officer without going for CLM & service term.

And since I am already a NS Logistics Officer, there is no needs to go for CLM & army service term cause these 2 courses are to train you for Prof Term & become an officer & not for soldier who are already an army commission officer.

So, normaly men/sgt will needs to enter as OCT & go for CLM, army service & LOCC while I am already a NS Logistics Officer who will be signing on & directly post to an unit to be a MTO/S4 & etc.

If I sign on signal officer, I only needs to top up Prof Term cause I am train to be a Logistics Officer & not Signal Officer.

Yes, I am now only a NSman WOSE but I may become a commission officer because there is a demand for 1 & I am 1 of the only 2 NSmen mostly holding an officer appointment in my unit.

So, if we are going to hold an officer appointment, must as well get the rank as well.

There are 2 ways which is to attend LOCC to be commission as an officer or ask Service Chief to promote 1 of us to be 2WO directly since we are going to ROD in few ICTs time & cannot slowly promote 1 rank up every ICT.

You think it's damn easy? and ask service chief to promote? lol.... i think COA/CAF/CNV got more stuff to do siahz. they can simply just post some commission officer in to fill the job right?

oh.. okok i get it TS.. so u are currently a NSmen Spec who wants to sign on la...

then like that as what u sae la... just have to attend the prof term whereby they specifically train u to be a Log Officer.

but wait .. i am further confused now..

So as of now u r a NSman serving in a NSmen unit? And r u signing on as Signals or Log officer??

"If I sign on signal officer, I only needs to top up Prof Term cause I am train to be a Logistics Officer & not Signal Officer."

from what i know, NSmen unit dun usually promote their Specs to Officer one.. if there is a Log Officer missing, the brigade will just top up. Reason is because they dun have the time to train u. An LOCC term will be about 6mths. The limit for NS recall is only 48 days if i am not wrong. Unless you want to volunteer the extra days.. but i am wondering what will happen to your civilian career.

Lolz, true ")

True, but in my unit, ....

Getting a regular who have other appointment from my unit to hold this appointment will have conflict issues.

Getting any NS commission officer/warrant officer/senior specialist to hold the appointment will result failure because they are incompetent as they do not have the skill, knowledge & working experience.

Only left with the choice of promoting 1 of the 2 NS Spec to hold the officer appointment.
