looking for a compact camera

I have been reading some of the post. And recently i have lost my s110. wondering if any compact might be comparable? sony rx100? lumix lx7? and what else? i was told to get a samsung, but i am not sure which one? any advice? whats important is a compact size

Why not get back the S110? it's a damn good camera. U can consider the RX100 now that prices have dropped.

If you need it to be super compact, rx100 is the way to go. IMO, wait for rx100 II though as it will be released soon.

Can also consider mirrorless cameras with interchangeable prime lens. Either Fuji X, Nex or m43 systems.

TS hasn't even respond with a budget yet.

My guess is that he will be satisfied with a XZ-2, LX7 or RX100, X20.
