Is it worthwhile to get casio oceanus at a hefty price if $3,199? G shock is awesome cheap & swee, i have for weekend wear, but dont seem to blend with office wear leh. Trying to find a good swee & not so ex watch but in vain for all these years. Swee ones either too ex, or cheaper ones like tissot get spoilt easily. How?

Definitely not for me, just my humble opinion though.

With 3.2k, I'll buy a Grand Seiko quartz for ~2.2k (sbgx061) or Citizen's The Citizen quartz (AQ1000-58E) for ~2.2k as well.

The Grand Seiko looks better to me, but Citizen's function is a lot better.
Tough choice for myself too. :(:(:(

I prefer quartz watch than automatic watch, having 5 automatics and a g shock, I still find g shock most useful.

Ok. Will think abt GS instead. How abt tagheuer brand, ok or not? Actually 3k is hefty for someone not that into watches, but just want a watch can wear match office attire, damn swee, useful and lasting.

I like Tag's Grand carrera calibre 8 grande date, but is very expensive. :(

The gs and citizen are pretty much the pinnacle of traditional quartz watch, they are high accuracy quartz watches(HAQ) basically keeping time to a +-10secs PER YEAR, it's crazy. :s12::s12:

Citizen's function comes with perpetual calendar (able to jump from 28 feb to march 1), date changes right at 0am, and solar charging with its eco drive technology, power reserve display, accuracy of +-5sec/year.
Citizen also comes with 10yrs warranty.

gs doesn't have any of those, but i think it looks better.

Decision decision... :(:(:(

Are you looking for digital or mechanical? If mechanical, I would recommend the entries such as StĂĽhrling or Arbutus. The movement is not as good, but for that kind of price you can't ask for a better design.

is StĂĽhrling a fake swiss company using china movement? not sure cause i came across that somewhere while researching. it's too cheap for a swiss made watch to be at ~$100

Stuhrling Original is at the forefront of this renaissance. The company's origins date back to the 1800s. However, following the company's rebirth in 1999, it has since designed and developed thousands of watch models that bear the mark of horological history. The Delphi Family, for example, features timepieces with skeletonized dials and automatic movements - homage to the early 1900's when the first skeleton watch was produced. Many of them also include a triple-step bezel, which is inspired by the Art Deco phenomenon that flourished during the 30s and 40s.

Finally got a Citizen eco drive for $380. Like u said design looks better than seiko. And its titanium, surprised at the weight. But only 3 years warranty. Accuracy is just +- 20s/month.
