Hi there!

I am wondering if anyone who recently purchased the Dell U2414H monitor find themselves not using the display port cable that came included? Will be quite happy to swap the following cables for it or offer cash. name your price :)
1) HDMI
2) Dual-link DVI

Drop me a pm or reply to this thread.

I upgraded from the u2414H to the u2713HM. The HDMI only supports up to 1080p, and Dell didn't supply the DP cable. Instead they furnished me with a dual-link cable which I cannot use with the Mac Pro... yah.. damn you Apple... this is all your fault. Dell is completely blameless here... lol

Might as well just go to challenger or so and get the cable that you need. Or if u stay near SLS, den hop over to get the cables.

Why go thru so much trouble just for a cable? Not as if the monitor can only work with the supplied cables by Dell..

good point. I went to challenger at Changi City Point, Parkway and Tampines. They don't carry mDP to DP cables. :) Thought there might be forum bros who are not using the Dell supplied cable. So looks like a trip to Sim Lim.. better dust off the BUTTGARD 7000. And the anti chaff cream...

Try qoo10.sg

I do not not enough posts to put the links here

Just Search for CurveCables.Asia in Qoo10.sg, you should see one there It is a minDP to DP cable

You may want to try that.

I bought a couple of miniDP-HDMI, but from different supplier..:)

Or if u are lazy, go search for T258jgn in hwz. He do sell loads of cable accessories. He can do postage or self collect at bukit panjang. I do go to him for some accessories if im lazy to go to SLS.

you are right. the HDMI on the Mac Pro does support up to 4K!! However, on further investigation we found out that the Dell 2713HM only supports 2560x1440 if the signal comes from the Display Port or the Dual Link DVI ports. Every other input caps out at 1900x1080. So the best way to resolve this is still to get a Mini Display to Displayport cable.

Thanks again for all the input guys! The MDP to DP cables should arrive within 2 weeks.

Mac Pro (Late 2013): Using multiple displays

Oh geez.. you should have gone to SLS to find this cable. I believe it's not difficult to get around level 4/5.

Managed to ask around for displayport cable.. those shops selling cables located at the backalley of level 4 and 5 , should be able to find.. however.. I just asked one shop located at level 4 for it.. it is in a clear plastic bag sealed with no wording at all . it didn't stated what version is it .. is it 1.1 or 1.2 or 1.2a at all, even the auntie also didn't know what version is it ?
