assuming its possible, this kind of purchase is from a very small market, chances are the prices will be cut throat high, think its time u sell and buy a new device.

if u really wanna upgrade, make sure u change to an SSD first

Yup actually I'm quite surprised im wasn't soldered.
Is just like desktop cpu, just open up the heatsink , unlock the ledge and lift up the cpu.

I'm using dell N5050 btw.
I saw a couple of YouTube videos doing the tutorial.

Some are socketed like the case of ts while others are soldered on.

Do check on socket type and also if it is supported by your bios - there is probably some whitelist (approved list) here and there just like wireless cards.

Best to consult the manufacturer's repair guide for the list of compatible processors.

thanks for the heads up.
I checked online that my model do have option of i5 with 35watt.
And that specific model is offered as an alternative upgrade when purchased online during that time

Most i5 2nd gen are socket first. So likely can upgrade. But the improvement is not really significant. You might be better off upgrading the harddisk to SSD. :)

I already upgraded the laptop to a ssd and 8gn ram so was thinking maybe can max out the upgrade option
