Hi all, I've been using an Asus Zenbook UX32LN since 2014 - purchased for $1.4k thereabouts then, with windows and Microsoft home. Recently the fan seems to have stopperd working (no more whirring sounds or vibration) and it's starting to lag quite badly.

I'm thinking of getting a replacement. I usually use for MS Word/Excel, watching videos, Spotify, internet browsing - something with:

1. SSD over normal hard drives
2. Intel i5 (can be one gen ago)
3. <1.5kg
4. 14in or smaller - for portability
5. Discrete graphics card is a plus
6. Anti glare / Matt screen is a plus
7. No need for 360deg hinge or touchscreen

Was looking at the latest Zenbook (UX433 I think), Dell XPS13. Any other recommendations? Willing to shell out up to 1.8k.

Bought a xps 13 from the Dell official refurbished website and I would definitely recommend it to you. Can't post any pictures of it yet as I haven't reached the 50 posts on the forums yet but will post them the moment I do.

But honestly super surprised with the condition of the laptop. I think if a manufacturer refurbishes it, you'll be okay, if its done by a third party it can be a little shady I suppose.

The laptop came with Dell's on site warranty too. You can check them out here. Can get a 9370 for SGD 1529 :)
