Can't find anyone that does this kind of repair, so decided to DIY through Google and Youtube.
After unscrewing the handle from the sofa, I went online to find an exact replacement. Surprisingly, they're easily sold on Amazon & E-bay. Just have to make sure to buy the same one that I have cos they have a few different kinds of handles, but all quite standard.
Bought my replacement handle from Amazon. USD 10 for the handle + USD 12 for shipping. Took about 1.5 weeks to arrive.
For my case, I only have to replace the handle as part of it was broken off. So I bought the handle ONLY. You can also buy the handle that comes with the release cable, but I didn't need that cos my cable was still ok. Replacing cable is another story.
B4 I can screw the new handle back, I had to flip my couch over to expose the bottom, so that I can manually access the catch that releases the recliner. Had to push that out so that the cable is loose enough to be reattached to the handle before I screw it back it.
Anyway, sounds complicated, but it is actually a very simple process. Took me 2-3 mins to replace the handle. It's a no-brainer once you know how.
At least next time I know. Plus if next time handle breaks again or the cable not working, I still know how to release the recliner without using the handle (while waiting for replacement to arrive).
