Actually ts if you wanna improve on your gaming experience. With that sum of money I rather you buy a few monitors, 1 more r9 280x crossfire, get good gaming keyboard and mouse. Get good table and also a good entry level home theatre setup around $1.3k and above.

This is what you need to have for good gaming experience. Not having a uber cpu with nothing much to see or feel.

Also, in case none of you noticed TS is using 4x U2712HM along with a 4GB 290X, 4960X and RIVE, so that kind of budget is pretty realistic for what he probably expects of a "gaming rig", not what the peasant gamers think of a "gaming rig".

Jereld, you probably should list down some expectations you require or your type of usage so people can give you proper recommendations. Else all you're gonna get is trolling and more trolling.

So therefor,i need advice to build the most overkill rig possible.. I have a home theater system already..

Only branded gaming PCs will cost that much.. If that forms you the wrong impression for any PC that can game. $2K can already get you something classy that can play whatever games you wished at max settings on a Full HD monitor.

i seriously wonder if he has that kind of high end parts. why not just build another similar rig with that budget? i mean if he really knows what he has does he still need recommendations on what to buy with his budget?

Why not? If he wants a new rig other than the one stated in his profile, you have to go the extra mile no?

Else I suggest TS to stay on your current rig. Save another few thousand and go for that in the coming years.

Okay just read his reply. Wants to build a new rig. If TS you just want to spend money, just pick the most expensive parts you see on a price list. That's about it. If you want help with that, come I use a price list give you example:

From PC Themes price list:
i7 4970x + ASUS Rampage 4 Extreme Black Ed. = ~$2019
Corsair H100i = ~$195
Gskill Ripjaws-x 2400MHz 8GBx4 (2 packs of total 64GB) = ~$900
Samsung 840 PRO 512GB SSD = ~$745

Windows 8/7 = $120
Total = ~$6750 +$250 whatever case = $7000

That's assuming you just have the budget reserved for the PC alone. Oh course if you're looking to get new monitors and stuff, 5.5k isn't much especially if you're going to go for triple monitor setup.

If you want strictly $5.5k budget, simply down the ram to 4x8gb ($450), get half the SSD and HDD ($564) and down the graphics card to 1 piece. Else you can change it to 2x 290x which will cost you roughly $500 less which adds to 5.5k

You got use surround and game before? My rig can only play BF4 on medium to high. Cannot even touch ultra on 5760x1080. 3x Titan will struggle with 4k surround even in BF4. Game play will not be smooth at all, no point getting 4k monitor.

I will advise TS to keep his 5.5k, and wait for Haswell E + Nvidia Maxwell. This will enable him to play on 4k surround.
