Hi gurus,

My current GPU is pretty much fried and I'm looking for a new replacement. I am looking to upgrade any other parts which needs upgrading as well and I am working with a budget of about $1500 dollars.

I mainly use this for gaming and would love to play on high/ultra settings.

You can see my rig's spec >>>

Am thinking of GTX 1070. If any of the other parts need upgrading as well, do advice!! :) (I think it's time to change RAM too)

Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you!

Be aware that GPU prices are at an all time high...

went scouting last week, totally shock at the current price at 1060 lmao. With that price +2xx I could have bought my 1080 back in dec. :(

Don't need to upgrade my RAM? I'm guessing based on what you said, I'll need to upgrade my monitor and GPU only?

With that budget, I will redo an entire rig. Not counting in monitor of cuz..
You can get a coffee lake cpu/Ryzen, with mobo, 16gb ram, gpu. Spare $$ can get a decent 2nd hand monitor from carousell

what is the price on the gtx1060?
I got them at 369 - 479
The street price is 550 and above, more so for the white ones.
I kept a few in case i need to build systems.
Now alot are Out of Stock

Same for the RX580 8gb

With prices of DDR4 being the ridiculous heights that they are now, a lot of Haswell and Ivy Bridge owners are holding fast for the moment, because the cost of new CPU+MB+DDR4 is crazy

Especially for those with Haswell and Ivy Bridge K CPUs. Just delid, buy bigger cooler and crank up as much as sanely possible

Sandy bridge and ivy bridge CPUs are less than i3-8100s.

Adding a bigger cooler is totally inefficient.
Selling away and getting a new system is Kore efficient
